     Grissell Hamilton was the daughter of John Hamilton, 4th of Orbiston and Christian Dalzell.² A contract for the marriage of Grissell Hamilton and Hugh Sanders was signed.¹ She died, before the marriage contract was completed.¹
     Her married name became Sanders.¹

     Patrick Hamilton is the son of John Hamilton, 1st of Orbiston and Jean Hamilton.¹

     Beatrice Fleming married James Hamilton, 1st of Dalzell, son of John Hamilton, 4th of Orbiston and Christian Dalzell.¹ She died after 1629.¹
     Her married name became Hamilton.

     Alexander Hamilton, 2nd of Dalzell was the son of James Hamilton, 1st of Dalzell and Jean Henderson.² He married Bethia Henderson, daughter of Sir John Henderson, 5th of Fordell and Margaret Menteith.¹ He died in January 1691.¹
     He was Commissioner to raise three regiments of Lanarkshire militia in 1668.¹ In 1668 Dalzell was assigned him and confirmed in 1672 by his half-brother Robert Hamilton of Monkland.¹

     Christina Hilary Holmes is the daughter of Sir Hugh Oliver Holmes.¹ She married, firstly, Lt.-Cdr. Christopher Hayward Wells, son of Sir Sydney Richard Wells, 1st Bt. and Mary Dorothy Maltby, on 18 September 1937.² She married, secondly, Sir James Holmes Henry, 2nd Bt., son of Rt. Hon. Sir Denis Stanislaus Henry, 1st Bt. and Violet Holmes, on 23 February 1949.¹
     Christina Hilary Holmes usually went by her middle name of Hilary.¹ From 18 September 1937, her married name became Wells.¹ From 23 February 1949, her married name became Henry.¹ She lived in 2003 at St Mary's House, 71 Ormond Avenue, Hampton-on-Thames, London, England^G.¹

     James Hamilton, 3rd of Dalzell and 8th of Orbieston was born in December 1670.¹ He was the son of Alexander Hamilton, 2nd of Dalzell and Bethia Henderson.² He married Margaret Hamilton, daughter of Sir Archibald Hamilton of Rosehall, 1st Bt. and Catherine Jardine, on 7 June 1693.¹ He died in 1727.¹
     He was educated at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.¹

     John Huggins was baptised on 12 July 1621.¹ He was the son of Thomas Huggins and Ann Lewenden.² He died circa 11 February 1634/35.¹ He was buried on 14 February 1634/35.¹

     Margaret Hamilton was born circa 1666. She was the daughter of Sir Archibald Hamilton of Rosehall, 1st Bt. and Catherine Jardine.² She married James Hamilton, 3rd of Dalzell and 8th of Orbieston, son of Alexander Hamilton, 2nd of Dalzell and Bethia Henderson, on 7 June 1693.¹ She died on 22 March 1704.¹

     Archibald Hamilton, 4th of Dalzell and 9th of Orbieston was born in 1694.¹ He was the son of James Hamilton, 3rd of Dalzell and 8th of Orbieston and Margaret Hamilton.² He married Marion Dalrymple, daughter of Hugh Dalrymple of Dromore, on 19 March 1732.¹ He died on 28 December 1774.¹
     He was educated at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.¹ In 1757 he was retoured lawful heir to the (territorial) Barony of Rosehall.¹ On 5 October 1757 he inherited the estates of his cousin, Marion Hamilton.³ He lived at Dalzell, Scotland^G.³ He lived at Rosehall, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.³

     James Hamilton of Muirhouse was born circa 1697.¹ He was the son of James Hamilton, 3rd of Dalzell and 8th of Orbieston and Margaret Hamilton.² He died on 9 June 1788.¹
     He was educated at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.¹ He was Collector of Supply for Lanarkshire in 1722.¹
