     Sir Robert Charles Gunning, 8th Bt. was born on 2 December 1901.1 He was the son of Charles Archibald John Gunning and Beatrice Constance Purvis.2 He married Helen Nancy Hallett, daughter of Vice-Admiral Sir Theodore John Hallett, on 15 September 1934.1 He died on 7 December 1989 at age 88.1,3
     He was educated at St. Paul's School, London, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Leeds University, Leeds, Yorkshire, West Riding, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Temporary Captain in the 50th (Northanptonshire Regiment), AA Battalion, Royal Engineers (TA.)1 He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Gunning, of Eltham, co. Kent [G.B., 1778] on 29 January 1950.1 He lived at Peace River, Alberta, CanadaG.1 He lived at Eltham, Kent, EnglandG.1

Colonel George Hamilton Gunning1

     Colonel George Hamilton Gunning was born on 3 November 1876.1 He was the son of Major Charles George Gunning and Emma Cameron Logan.2 He married, firstly, Wynifred Florence Langton Challice, daughter of Reverend Walter David Challice, on 2 June 1906.1 He and Wynifred Florence Langton Challice were divorced in 1925.1 He married, secondly, Sybil Viola Ashton, daughter of H. P. Ashton, in 1926.1 He died on 6 December 1936 at age 60.1
     He fought in the Tirah Campaign in 1897.1 He fought in the Waziristan Campaign between 1901 and 1902.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches three times.1 He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Clonel.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1 He fought in the Afghan War in 1919.1 He fought in the Waziristan Campaign between 1919 and 1920.1 He was Colonel Commandant of the PAVO Cavalry, Indian Army.1

     Major Jack Hamilton Gunning was born on 5 February 1907.1 He was the son of Colonel George Hamilton Gunning and Wynifred Florence Langton Challice.2 He married, firstly, Judith Clowes Castle, daughter of Captain Norton Clowes Castle, on 2 July 1938.1 He married, secondly, Kathleen Irene Wilson, daughter of P. W. A. Wilson, on 4 August 1951.1 He died on 26 November 1956 at age 49.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the Bombay Grenadier, Indian Army.1
