     Beatrix de Dampierre was born in 1280.1 She was the daughter of Guy III de Dampierre, Margrave de Namur and Isabelle von Luxembourg. She married Hugues VI de Châtillon-sur-Marne, Comte de Blois et de Dunois, son of Guy IV de Châtillon, Comte de Saint-Pol and Matilde de Brabant, in 1287. She died after 1307.

     Hugues VI de Châtillon-sur-Marne, Comte de Blois et de Dunois was born on 9 April 1258.1 He was the son of Guy IV de Châtillon, Comte de Saint-Pol and Matilde de Brabant.1 He married Beatrix de Dampierre, daughter of Guy III de Dampierre, Margrave de Namur and Isabelle von Luxembourg, in 1287. He died in 1307.
     He gained the title of Comte de Dunois. He gained the title of Comte de Blois.

     William de Ferrers, 5th Earl of Derby was born circa 1200 at Derby, Derbyshire, EnglandG.1 He was the son of William de Ferrers, 4th Earl of Derby and Alice of Chester. He married Sibyl Marshal, daughter of William Marshal, 1st Earl of Pembroke and Isabella de Clare, Countess of Pembroke. He married Margaret de Quincy, daughter of Roger de Quency, 2nd Earl of Winchester and Helen de Galloway, in 1238.1 He died on 24 March 1254 at Evington, Leicestershire, EnglandG.1
     He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Derby in 1247.

     Sibyl Marshal is the daughter of William Marshal, 1st Earl of Pembroke and Isabella de Clare, Countess of Pembroke.1 She married William de Ferrers, 5th Earl of Derby, son of William de Ferrers, 4th Earl of Derby and Alice of Chester.
     Her married name became de Ferrers.

Hugh Graham, 1st and last Baron Atholstan1

     Hugh Graham, 1st and last Baron Atholstan was born on 18 July 1848 at Huntingdon, Quebec, CanadaG.1 He was the son of Robert Walker Graham.1 He married Annie Beekman Hamilton, daughter of Edward Hamilton, on 17 March 1892.1 He died on 28 January 1938 at age 89 at Montreal, Quebec, CanadaG, without male issue.1
     He was educated at Huntingdon Academy, Huntingdon, Quebec, CanadaG.1 He was an office boy for the Montreal Daily Telegraph circa 1863.1 He was an employee of the Montreal Gazette circa 1866.1 In 1869 he founded the Montreal Star.1 He became the founder and owner of many of the influential newspapers of Canada.1 In 1900 he greatly influenced the eventual dispatch of Canadian forces to the Boer War.1 He was appointed Knight Bachelor on 9 November 1908.1 He was created 1st Baron Atholstan, of Huntingdon in the province of Quebec in the Dominion of Canada, and of the City of Edinburgh [U.K.] on 5 May 1917.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, ScotlandG.1
     On his death, the Barony of Atholstan became extinct.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2

     Alice of Chester was born circa 1174 at Tutbury, Staffordshire, EnglandG.2 She was the daughter of Hugh of Kevelioc, 3rd Earl of Chester and Bertrade de Montfort.1 She married William de Ferrers, 4th Earl of Derby, son of William de Ferrers, 3rd Earl of Derby and Sybil de Braose, in 1192 in a Cheshire, England marriage.2 She died on 2 November 1247.2
     She was also known as Agnes of Chester.

     William de Ferrers, 4th Earl of Derby was born circa 1162 at Ferrers, Derbyshire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of William de Ferrers, 3rd Earl of Derby and Sybil de Braose.2 He married Alice of Chester, daughter of Hugh of Kevelioc, 3rd Earl of Chester and Bertrade de Montfort, in 1192 in a Cheshire, England marriage.2 He died on 22 September 1247.2
     He gained the title of 4th Earl of Derby after 1189. In 1190/91 he had livery of his lands.1
