     Rear-Admiral John Harold Adams was born on 19 December 1918 at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Harold Victor Adams and Cecilia Dent.1 He married, firstly, Mary Kennedy Preston Parker, daughter of Arthur Parker, in 1943.1 He and Mary Kennedy Preston Parker were divorced in 1961.1 He married, secondly, Ione Elizabeth Jane Eadie, daughter of Colonel James Alister Eadie and Nereida Cynthia Carmen Clarke, on 6 October 1961.1 He died on 3 November 2008 at age 89 at Hook, Hampshire, EnglandG.1
     He was commissioned on 1 September 1936 with the rank of Cadet, in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 1 September 1940.1 He gained the rank of Captain on 31 December 1956.1 He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) on 13 June 1957.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) on 10 June 1967.1 He retired from the military on 12 February 1968, with the rank of Rear-Admiral.1
