Vice-Admiral Sir Adolphus Slade1

     Vice-Admiral Sir Adolphus Slade was born on 22 May 1802 at Salisbury, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1,2 He was the son of General Sir John Slade, 1st Bt. and Anna Eliza Dawson.3 He died on 13 November 1877 at age 75 at Marylebone, London, EnglandG, unmarried.1,2
     He was in the Turkish service with title of Ferik and appellation Muschaver Pasha.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1827 in the Royal Navy.2 He wrote the book A Cruise on the Black Sea with Captain Pasha, published circa 1831.2 He wrote the book Turkey Greece and Malta: Records of travels in the East, published 1837, in 2 volumes.2 He gained the rank of Commander on 23 November 1841.2 He gained the rank of Captain on 10 January 1849.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) on 18 August 1858.1,2 He was awarded the Knight, Order of the Medjidie and Osmanieh 2nd Class.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral on 2 April 1866.2 He retired from the military on 6 April 1873, with the rank of Vice-Admiral.1,2 He wrote the book Turkey and the Crimean War.1

     Henry Slade was baptised on 21 August 1726 at Burstock, Dorset, EnglandG.1,2 He was the son of Henry Slade and Mary Case.1 He married Anne Forsey, daughter of John Forsey, on 2 July 1761 at Broadwindsor, Dorset, EnglandG.2 He died on 11 November 1811 at age 85 at Burstock, Dorset, EnglandG.1,2 He was buried on 16 November 1811 at Burstock, Dorset, EnglandG.2
     He was a schoolmaster at Broadwindsor, Dorset, EnglandG.2

     Alfred Robert Slade was born on 7 October 1806.2 He was the son of General Sir John Slade, 1st Bt. and Anna Eliza Dawson.3 He died on 20 December 1829 at age 23, unmarried, at sea.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.1

     Charlotte Susan Slade was born on 20 July 1795.3 She was the daughter of General Sir John Slade, 1st Bt. and Anna Eliza Dawson.4 She was baptised on 13 August 1795 at St. Anne's, Soho, London, EnglandG.3 She married Joseph Henri François Milliet, Marchese de Faverges on 6 April 1823 at Paris, FranceG.1,3 She died on 17 November 1878 at age 83.1

     Joseph Henri François Milliet, Marchese de Faverges was born on 7 December 1755 at Challes, Savoie, FranceG.2 He married Charlotte Susan Slade, daughter of General Sir John Slade, 1st Bt. and Anna Eliza Dawson, on 6 April 1823 at Paris, FranceG.1,2 He died on 2 April 1839 at age 83.2
     He lived at ItalyG.1 He was awarded the Knight, Order of St. Maurice and St. Lazarus of Italy.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1823.2

     Anna Eliza Slade was born on 6 December 1797 at IrelandG.3 She was the daughter of General Sir John Slade, 1st Bt. and Anna Eliza Dawson.4 She married Wadham Penruddock Wyndham, son of Henry Penruddocke Wyndham, on 1 March 1821 at Salisbury, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1,3 She died on 7 May 1872 at age 74.1
     From 1 March 1821, her married name became Wyndham.

     Wadham Penruddock Wyndham was born on 16 October 1773 at Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.2 He was the son of Henry Penruddocke Wyndham.2 He married Anna Eliza Slade, daughter of General Sir John Slade, 1st Bt. and Anna Eliza Dawson, on 1 March 1821 at Salisbury, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1,3 He died on 22 October 1843 at age 70 at Salisbury, Wiltshire, England, without issue.1,2
     He lived at The College, Salisbury, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Salisbury between 1818 and 1833.1,2 He held the office of Mayor of Wilton from 1825 to 1826.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Salisbury between 1835 and 1843.2

     Matilda Ellen Dawson was the daughter of James Dawson and Olivia Daly.2,1 She married General Sir John Slade, 1st Bt., son of John Slade and Charlotte Portal, on 17 June 1822.1 She died on 12 September 1868.1
     From 17 June 1822, her married name became Slade.

Maj.-Gen. Herbert Dawson Slade1

     Maj.-Gen. Herbert Dawson Slade was born on 28 May 1824.1 He was also reported to have been born on 27 May 1824.2 He was the son of General Sir John Slade, 1st Bt. and Matilda Ellen Dawson.3 He married Harriet Augusta Bolton, daughter of Chichester Francis Bolton, on 2 June 1851 at St. Anne's Church, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1,2 He died on 15 June 1900 at age 76.1
     He was commissioned on 25 October 1842 with the rank of Cornet.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 9 June 1846.2 He gained the rank of Captain on 28 August 1849 in the 4th Light Dragoons.2 He fought in the Crimean War in 1855, including the Battle of the Tchernaya and the siege of Sebastopol.2 He fought in the China War in 1860.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1868 in the Kings Dragoon Guards.2 He was Aide-de-Camp to General Sir JK Scarlett in the Crimea.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the 1st King's Dragoon Guards.1
