     Sir Charles Dunbar Hope-Dunbar of St. Mary's Isle, 6th Bt. was born on 12 July 1873.2 He was the son of Captain John Hope of St. Mary's Isle and Rebecca Marion Blackburn.2 He married, firstly, Edythe Mary Ramsden, daughter of Richard Ramsden, on 31 January 1906.2 He married, secondly, Marjorie Ford, daughter of Hugh Chesterton Ford, on 21 October 1948.2 He died on 6 January 1958 at age 84.2
     He was given the name of Charles Dunbar Hope at birth.1 He fought in the Boer War.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Field Artillery.2 On 1 June 1916 his name was legally changed to Charles Dunbar Hope-Dunbar.1 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Dunbar, of Baldoon [N.S., 1664] on 1 June 1916.2 He was Acting Lieutenant-Colonel of the Brigade in 1917.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)2

     Helen Jacqueline Hope was born on 26 October 1875.1 She was the daughter of Captain John Hope of St. Mary's Isle and Rebecca Marion Blackburn.2 She married Alan Burns, son of John William Burns and Helen Sherer, on 27 November 1901.1 She died on 21 April 1923 at age 47.1
     She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)1 From 27 November 1901, her married name became Burns.

     Alan Burns was born on 28 February 1868.2 He was the son of John William Burns and Helen Sherer.2 He married Helen Jacqueline Hope, daughter of Captain John Hope of St. Mary's Isle and Rebecca Marion Blackburn, on 27 November 1901.1
     He was educated at Repton School, Repton, Derbyshire, England.3 He gained the rank of Captain in the 1/9th Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.3 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)3 He was a practising Advocate.3 He lived at Cumbernauld, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)3
