John Harcourt Chichester Evelyn1

     John Harcourt Chichester Evelyn was born on 11 August 1876.1 He was the son of William John Evelyn and Frances Harriet Chichester.1 He married Frances Edith Ives, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Cecil Robert St. John Ives and Hon. Susan Ann Talbot, on 27 January 1902.1 He died on 2 January 1922 at age 45, from wounds received in action.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 19th (Service) battalion, Royal Fusiliers.1 He fought in the Boer War, with 13th Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was seriously wounded.1 He lived at Wotton, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1
