     Colonel George Palmer Evelyn was born on 21 August 1823.2 He was the son of George Evelyn and Mary Jane Massy-Dawson.3,2 He married Esther Emiline Phillips, daughter of Lewis Phillips, in 1855.2 He died on 18 March 1889 at age 65.2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Rifle Brigade.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 1st Royal Surrey Militia.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent.2 He lived at Hartley Manor, Kent, EnglandG.2
