Thomas Pope, 2nd Earl of Downe was baptised on 16 December 1622 at Wroxton, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was the son of Sir William Pope and Elizabeth Watson.2 He married Lucy Dutton, daughter of John Dutton and Elizabeth Baynton, on 26 November 1638 at Sherborne, Dorset, EnglandG.2 He died on 28 December 1660 at age 38 at Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, without male issue.2 He was buried on 11 January 1661 at Wroxton, Oxfordshire, England.
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Pope, of Wilcote, co. Oxford [E., 1611] on 2 June 1631. He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Downe [I., 1628] on 2 June 1631.
