Edith Cunningham Boothby was born on 26 January 1867 at St. Andrews, Fife, ScotlandG.1,2 She was the daughter of Colonel Robert Tod Boothby and Madeline Condie.1 She married Walter Cunliffe, 1st Baron Cunliffe, son of Roger Cuncliffe and Ann Edge, on 8 July 1896.1 She died on 22 November 1965 at age 98.1
From 8 July 1896, her married name became Cunliffe.1 After her marriage, Edith Cunningham Boothby was styled as Baroness Cunliffe on 14 December 1914.

Colonel Robert Tod Boothby was born on 3 June 1830.2 He was the son of James Brownell Boothby and Charlotte Cunningham.2 He married Madeline Condie, daughter of James Condie, on 25 November 1852.2 He died on 5 July 1897 at age 67.2
