     Annie Maude Gardner was the daughter of W. W. Gardner.1 She married Rt. Rev. William Boyd Carpenter, son of Reverend Henry Carpenter and Hester Boyd, in 1883.1 She died in 1915.1
     From 1883, her married name became Boyd Carpenter.1

Charles Bowyer Adderley, 1st Baron Norton1

     Charles Bowyer Adderley, 1st Baron Norton was born on 2 August 1814.1 He was the son of Charles Clement Adderley and Anna Maria Cradock-Hartopp.2 He married Hon. Julia Anne Eliza Leigh, daughter of Chandos Leigh, 1st Baron Leigh of Stoneleigh and Margarette Willes, on 28 July 1842 at Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, England.1,3 He died on 28 March 1905 at age 90.1
     He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for North Staffordshire between 1841 and 1878.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1858.1 He was Vice-President of the Committee Council of Education between 1858 and 1859.1 He held the office of President of the Board of Health between March 1858 and September 1858.1 He held the office of Parliamentary Under-Secretary of the Colonies between 1866 and 1868.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1869.1 He held the office of President of the Board of Trade between 1874 and 1878.1 He was created 1st Baron Norton, of Norton-on-the-Moors, co. Stafford [U.K.] on 16 April 1878.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Warwickshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Staffordshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Staffordshire.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.4

     Hon. Julia Anne Eliza Leigh was born on 19 December 1820.2 She was the daughter of Chandos Leigh, 1st Baron Leigh of Stoneleigh and Margarette Willes.1,3 She married Charles Bowyer Adderley, 1st Baron Norton, son of Charles Clement Adderley and Anna Maria Cradock-Hartopp, on 28 July 1842 at Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, England.1,4 She died on 8 May 1887 at age 66.1
     From 28 July 1842, her married name became Adderley.1 After her marriage, Hon. Julia Anne Eliza Leigh was styled as Baroness Norton on 16 April 1878.

     Caroline Ellen Dixie was born in 1848 at Pagham, Sussex, England.2 She was the daughter of Sir Alexander Beaumont Churchill Dixie, 10th Bt. and Maria Catharine Walters.1,2 She married Charles Leigh Adderley, 2nd Baron Norton, son of Charles Bowyer Adderley, 1st Baron Norton and Hon. Julia Anne Eliza Leigh, on 15 December 1870.1 She died on 6 August 1922.1
     From 15 December 1870, her married name became Adderley.1 After her marriage, Caroline Ellen Dixie was styled as Baroness Norton on 28 March 1905.

     Sir Alexander Archibald Douglas Wolstan Dixie, 13th Bt. was born on 8 January 1910.1 He was the son of Sir George Douglas Dixie, 12th Bt. and Margaret Lindsay Jardine.1 He married, firstly, Phyllis Pinnell Colhoun Probyn, daughter of Lt.-Col. Percy John Probyn, on 8 February 1940.1 He and Phyllis Pinnell Colhoun Probyn were divorced in 1950.1 He married, secondly, Dorothy Penelope King-Kirkman on 7 December 1950.1 He died on 8 January 1975 at age 65.3
     Sir Alexander Archibald Douglas Wolstan Dixie, 13th Bt. usually went by his middle name of Wolstan.1 He was educated at St. Joseph's College, Dumfries, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.1 He was educated at Prior Park College, Bath, Somerset, England.1 He succeeded as the 13th Baronet Dixie, of Market Bosworth, co. Leicester [E., 1660] on 25 December 1948.1 He held the office of Member of the Windsor Rural District Council between 1956 and 1958.1 On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.4

     Ronald Woolstan Fleetwood Adderley, 4th Baron Norton was born on 15 October 1885.1 He was the son of Charles Leigh Adderley, 2nd Baron Norton and Caroline Ellen Dixie.1 He married Hylda Tovey, daughter of Robert William Tovey, on 20 August 1931.1 He died on 4 January 1944 at age 58, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Worcestershire Regiment.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Norton, of Norton-on-the-Moors, co. Stafford [U.K., 1878] on 17 October 1933.1

     Hylda Tovey was the daughter of Robert William Tovey.1 She married, firstly, Hilary George Dunbar before 1931.1 She married, secondly, Ronald Woolstan Fleetwood Adderley, 4th Baron Norton, son of Charles Leigh Adderley, 2nd Baron Norton and Caroline Ellen Dixie, on 20 August 1931.1 She died in February 1952.1
     From before 1931, her married name became Dunbar.1 From 20 August 1931, her married name became Adderley.1 After her marriage, Hylda Tovey was styled as Baroness Norton on 17 October 1933.
