Sir William Gerald Seymour Vesey-FitzGerald was born on 8 April 1841. He was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir William Robert Seymour Vesey-FitzGerald and Maria Tryphena Seymour.2,1 He married Jane Margaret Matilda Macdonald Lockhart, daughter of Sir Norman Macdonald Lockhart, 21st of the Lee and 8th of Carnwath, 3rd Bt. and Margaret McLean, on 23 September 1862.1 He died on 10 May 1910 at age 69.1
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1865 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He was Private Secretary to the Governor of Bombay between 1867 and 1872.1 He was Political Aide-de-Camp to the Secretary of State for India between 1874 and 1910.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Sussex.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.) in 1887.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Indian Empire (K.C.I.E.) in 1887.1

Tryphena Elizabeth Vesey-FitzGerald was the daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir William Robert Seymour Vesey-FitzGerald and Maria Tryphena Seymour.3,1 She married Townley Patten Hume Macartney-Filgate, son of George Macartney and Ellen Filgate, in 1862.1 She died in October 1918.1

Townley Patten Hume Macartney-Filgate was born in January 1841.2 He was the son of George Macartney and Ellen Filgate.2 He married Tryphena Elizabeth Vesey-FitzGerald, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir William Robert Seymour Vesey-FitzGerald and Maria Tryphena Seymour, in 1862.1 He died on 30 December 1906 at age 65.2
He was given the name of Townley Patten Hume Macartney at birth.2 He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.2 On 4 June 1862 his name was legally changed to Townley Patten Hume Macartney-Filgate by Royal Licence.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the 18th Hussars and Scots Greys.2 He was Inspector-General of Gaols and Registration, Bombay Presidency.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at Lowtherstone, County Dublin, IrelandG.2
