Colonel Francis Peter Cassidy was born on 3 August 1810.1 He was the son of Reverend Mark Cassidy and Henrietta Jackson.2 He married Maria Lucy Anne Hayman, daughter of Matthew Hayman, on 2 June 1853.1 He died on 24 September 1879 at age 69.1
He gained the rank of Colonel in the 34th Foot.1 He fought in the Indian Mutiny in 1857, where he was severely wounded at the Battle of Cawnpore.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Derry.1 He lived at Glenbrook, County Londonderry, IrelandG.1
