     Louisa Matlack Abert is the daughter of Colonel John James Abert.2 She married Bernard Miles Byrne, son of Bernard Byrne and Mary Russell, on 18 November 1851.1
     From 18 November 1851, her married name became Byrne.

Colonel Bernard Miles Byrne1

     Colonel Bernard Miles Byrne was born on 19 October 1852.1 He was the son of Bernard Miles Byrne and Louisa Matlack Abert.2 He married Bertha Rose Barnitz, daughter of Colonel Albert Barnitz, on 11 February 1892.1 He died on 28 February 1910 at age 57.1
     His name was legally changed to Bernard Abert.1 He was educated at Columbian College, Washington, D.C., U.S.A.G.1 He fought in the Spanish-American War in 1898.1 He was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honour.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the U.S. Army.1

     Bertha Rose Barnitz was the daughter of Colonel Albert Barnitz.2 She married Colonel Bernard Miles Byrne, son of Bernard Miles Byrne and Louisa Matlack Abert, on 11 February 1892.1 She died on 19 June 1961.1
     From 11 February 1892, her married name became Byrne.

     He graduated from Columbia University, College of Physicians, Manhattan, New York City, New York, U.S.A.G, with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 He fought in the First World War.1 He lived in 1976 at Utopia, Texas, U.S.A.G.1

     Colonel Bernard Abert Byrne was born on 13 October 1898.1 He is the son of Colonel Bernard Miles Byrne and Bertha Rose Barnitz.2
     He was educated at U.S. Military Academy, West Point, New York, U.S.A.G.1 He was Company Commander of the 35th Infantry Division between 1923 and 1927 at Hawaii, U.S.A.G.1 He was Company Commander of the 22nd Brigade between 1930 and 1936.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the U.S. Army.1 He fought in the Seciond World War.1 He was Commander of the 320th Infantry, 35th Infantry Division.1 He was awarded the Legion d'Honneur.1 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre avec palmes.1 He was awarded the U.S. Silver Star.1 He was Chief of Staff for the U.S.Army, Pacific.1 He was Senior Army Instructor, Hawaii National Guard.1 He lived in 1976 at 933 Iiwi Street, Honolulu, Hawaii, U.S.A.G.1
