     Hon. John French was born on 13 March 1853.1 He was the son of Charles French, 3rd Baron de Freyne of Coolavin and Catherine Maree.2 He married Nannie Dillon, daughter of Valentine B. Dillon, on 26 July 1877.1 He died on 23 May 1916 at age 63.1
     He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Resident Magistrate for County Kerry between 1892 and 1898.1 He held the office of Resident Magistrate for County Limerick in 1898.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Roscommon.1 He lived at Miramar, Cobh, County Cork, IrelandG.1

     Nannie Dillon was the daughter of Valentine B. Dillon.2 She married Hon. John French, son of Charles French, 3rd Baron de Freyne of Coolavin and Catherine Maree, on 26 July 1877.1 She died on 3 February 1947.1
     From 26 July 1877, her married name became French.

Major Charles John French1

     Major Charles John French was born on 13 October 1878.1 He was the son of Hon. John French and Nannie Dillon.2 He married Enid M. Hudson, daughter of George Hudson, in October 1914.1 He died on 2 July 1916 at age 37, killed in action.2
     He fought in the Boer War.2 He gained the rank of officer in the Lord Longford's Yeomanry.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 5th Battalion, King's Shropshire Light Infantry.2 He fought in the First World War.2

     John Cyril French was born on 2 August 1883.1 He was the son of Hon. John French and Nannie Dillon.2 He married, firstly, Cecilia Goldinger, daughter of Isaac Goldinger, on 17 September 1915 at Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa.1,3 He and Cecilia Goldinger were divorced in 1926.1 He married, secondly, Winifred Eastwood, daughter of Thomas Eastwood, in September 1926.1 He married, thirdly, Christine Botha.1 He and Winifred Eastwood were divorced.1 He died on 30 March 1955 at age 71.1
     He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the South African Scottish Regiment.1
