     He gained the rank of Major in the 6th Dragoon Guards.³ He gained the rank of Colonel in the 6th Dragoon Guards.¹

     Major Arthur John Digby Hamilton was born on 18 December 1912.^2,3 He was the son of Colonel Arthur Cochrane Hamilton and Violet Antonia Fairlie-Cuninghame.^4,5 He married Imogen Ann Chichester, daughter of Marcus Beresford Chichester and Myra K. Brownrigg-Jay, on 10 February 1948.¹ He died in 1980 at Honiton, Devon, England.^1,3
     He retired from the military in 1951, with the rank of Major, late of the Scots Guards.¹ He lived at Stephenstown, Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland.²
