Irene Palaeologine, Empress of Trebizond1

     Irene Palaeologine, Empress of Trebizond was born illegitimately.2 She is the daughter of Andronicus III Palaeologus, Emperor of Constantinople.2 She married Basileios Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond, son of Alexios II Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond and unknown daughter of Samtskhe, on 17 September 1335.2
     She succeeded as the Empress Irene of Trebizond in 1340.1 She was deposed as Empress of Trebizond in 1341.1

     Anna Anachoutlou Comnene, Emperess of Trebizond was the daughter of Alexios II Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond and unknown daughter of Samtskhe.1,2 She died on 4 September 1342, strangled.2
     A nun, but she fled her convent during the troubles of 1340-1, and seized the throne of Trebizond.2 She succeeded as the Empress Anna of Trebizond on 17 July 1341.1 She was deposed as Empress of Trebizond in 1341.1 She succeeded as the Empress Anna of Trebizond in 1341.1

     Michael Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond was born circa 1288.2 He was the son of Ioannes II Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond and Eudokia Palaeologine.1,3 He married unknown daughter Akropolites, daughter of Konstantinos Akropolites and Maria Komnene Tornikina, before 1324.2 He died after 1349.1
     He was deposed as Emperor of Trebizond in 1341.1 He succeeded as the Emperor Michael of Trebizond in 1341.1 He succeeded as the Emperor Michael of Trebizond on 3 May 1344.1,2 He was deposed as Emperor of Trebizond on 13 December 1349.1,2 He was a monk after 1349.2 He lived in 1351 at Constantinople, TurkeyG.2

     Ioannes III Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond was born circa 1324.2 He was the son of Michael Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond and unknown daughter Akropolites.1,2 He died in March 1362 at Sinope, TurkeyG.1,2
     He succeeded as the Emperor John III of Trebizond on 9 September 1342.1,2 He was deposed as Emperor of Trebizond on 3 May 1344.1,2

     Alexios III Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond was born on 5 October 1338.2 He was the son of Basileios Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond and Eirene (?)1,2 He married Theodora Kantakouzene, daughter of Sebastokrator Nikephoros Kantakouzenos, on 28 September 1358 at Church of St. Eugenios, Trebizond, TurkeyG.2 He died on 20 March 1390 at age 51.1,2
     He was given the name of Ioannes Comnenos at birth.2 In 1340 he fled Trebizond to Constantinople.2 He succeeded as the Emperor Alexios III of Trebizond on 21 January 1350.1,2
     He had two other daughters, possibly by a mistress.3

     Manuel III Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond was born on 16 December 1364.2 He was the son of Alexios III Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond and Theodora Kantakouzene.1,3 He married, firstly, Gulkhan of Georgia, daughter of David IX Bagrationi, King of Georgia and Sundukhtar of Samtskhe, on 6 September 1377 at Trebizond, TurkeyG.2 He married, secondly, Anna Philanthropene Comnene, daughter of Manuel Angelos Philanthropenos, Lord of Thessaly, in 1395.2 He died circa 5 March 1417.1,2
     He succeeded as the Emperor Manuel III of Trebizond in 1390.1

     Alexios IV Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond was born circa 1379.2 He was the son of Manuel III Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond and Gulkhan of Georgia.1,2 He married Theodora Kantakouzene, daughter of Theodoros Palaiologos Kantakouzenos, after 5 September 1395.3 He died in October 1429, assasinated.2 He was buried at Church of the Theotokos Chrysokephalos, Trebizond, TurkeyG.2
     He succeeded as the Emperor Alexios IV of Trebizond in 1417.1

     Ioannes IV Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond was born before 1403.2 He was the son of Alexios IV Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond and Theodora Kantakouzene.1,3 He married unknown daughter of Georgia, daughter of Alexander I Bagrationi, King of Georgia and Dulandukt of Siunia.4 He died in 1458.1
     He succeeded as the Emperor Ioannes IV of Trebizond in 1429, after assasinating his father.1

David Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond1

     David Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond was born between 1407 and 1409.2 He was the son of Alexios IV Comnenos, Emperor of Trebizond and Theodora Kantakouzene.1,3 He married Maria of Gothia, daughter of Alexios, Prince of Gothia, in November 1429.2 He died on 1 November 1463 at Constantinople, TurkeyG, executed by the Turks.2
     He succeeded as the Emperor David of Trebizond in 1458.1 On 22 April 1460 he wrote a letter to the Duke of Burgundy for help.2 He was deposed as Emperor of Trebizond in 1461.1
