Patrick Lindsay1

     Patrick Lindsay was born circa 1718.1 He was the son of Patrick Lindsay and Margaret Monteir.1 He married Margaret Haliburton, daughter of Thomas Haliburton. He died on 18 October 1801, without male issue.1
     He lived at Eaglescairnie, East Lothian, ScotlandG.1

     Lt.-Col. John Lindsay was the son of Patrick Lindsay and Margaret Monteir.1 He married Margaret Maria Halkett, daughter of Charles Hackett Craigie Halkett, in 1776.1 He died on 8 April 1780.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 53rd Foot.1

     Maj.-Gen. Sir Patrick Lindsay was born on 24 February 1778.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. John Lindsay and Margaret Maria Halkett.1 He died on 14 March 1839 at age 61, without issue.1
     He succeeded as the 17th Lord Lindsay of the Byres [S., 1444] in May 1809, de jure.1 He succeeded as the 8th Earl of Lindsay [S., 1633] in May 1809, de jure.1 He succeeded as the 7th Lord Kilbirny and Drumry [S., 1703] in May 1809, de jure.1 He succeeded as the 7th Viscount of Garnock [S., 1703] in May 1809, de jure.1 He succeeded as the 8th Lord Parbroath [S., 1633] in May 1809, de jure.1 He fought in the taking of Coorg, India.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Hanoverian Order (K.C.H.) in 1834.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1837.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1838.1

     William Lindsay was the son of Patrick Lindsay, 4th Lord Lindsay of the Byres and Isabella Pitcairn.1 He married Isabel Logan.1 He died before March 1546/47.1

Lady Helen Stewart1

     Lady Helen Stewart was the daughter of John Stewart, 2nd Earl of Atholl.1 She married, firstly, John Lindsay, 5th Lord Lindsay of the Byres, son of Sir John Lindsay, Master of Lindsay and Elizabeth Lundie.1 She married, secondly, Thomas Moncur in 1563.1 She died in 1577.1
     Her married name became Lindsay.1 From 1563, her married name became Moncur.1

     Patrick Lindsay, 6th Lord Lindsay of the Byres was born in 1521.1 He was the son of John Lindsay, 5th Lord Lindsay of the Byres and Lady Helen Stewart.2 He married Euphemia Douglas, daughter of Sir Robert Douglas of Lochleven and Margaret Erskine, circa May 1545.1 He died on 11 December 1589.1
     He succeeded as the 6th Lord Lindsay of the Byres [S., 1444] circa 17 December 1563.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1565.1 He was a leader in the murder of Rizzio, the secretary and favourite of Mary, Queen of Scots.1 He held the office of Joint Lord-Lieutenant and Justice of Fife in 1572.1 He held the office of Lord Provost of Edinburgh in 1573.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Fife in 1574.1 In 1582 he was involved in the Raid of Ruthven.1
