     Frederick Cawley, 1st Baron Cawley was born on 9 October 1850 at Priestlands, Bunbury, Cheshire, EnglandG.1,2 He was the son of Thomas Cawley and Harriet Bird.3 He married Elizabeth Smith, daughter of John Smith and Fanny Robson, on 24 August 1876 at Audlem, Cheshire, EnglandG.1,2 He died on 30 March 1937 at age 86 at Berrington Hall, Leominster, Herefordshire, EnglandG.1,2 He was buried on 2 April 1937 at Eye Leominster, Herefordshire, EnglandG.2 His will was proven (by probate), at £864,479 gross and £730,469 net.2
     He was educated at Aldersey School, Bunbury, Cheshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Wesley College, Sheffield, Yorkshire, West Riding, EnglandG.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for South-East Lancashire, Prestwich Division between 1895 and 1918.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Herefordshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.1 He was created 1st Baronet Cawley [U.K.] on 1 December 1906.1 He was chairman of the Heaton Mills Bleaching Company at Middleton, Lancashire, EnglandG.2 He held the office of Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster between 1916 and 1918.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 13 December 1916.1,2 He was created 1st Baron Cawley, of Prestwich, co.
