     Sir John Jackson, 1st Bt. was born on 30 December 1763 at Kingston, JamaicaG.1 He was the son of John Jackson and Hannah Coverley.2 He married Charlotte Spry Gorham, daughter of General Joseph Gorham and Ann Spry, on 13 February 1797.1 He died on 17 May 1820 at age 56 at Bellmoor House, Hampstead, London, EnglandG.2
     He was Director of the Honourable East India Company.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dover.2 He was Private Secretary to Lord Keith.2 He was created 1st Baronet Jackson, of Arlsey, co. Bedford [U.K.] on 22 May 1815.1

     Charlotte Spry Gorham was born on 16 November 1772 at Gorham Hall, Gorham Point, Nova Scotia, Canada.2 She was the daughter of General Joseph Gorham and Ann Spry.1 She married, firstly, John Christian on 26 March 1791 at Bloomsbury, London, EnglandG.3 She married, secondly, Sir John Jackson, 1st Bt., son of John Jackson and Hannah Coverley, on 13 February 1797.1 She died on 30 June 1807 at age 34 at Sidmouth, Devon, EnglandG.3
     From 26 March 1791, her married name became Christian. From 13 February 1797, her married name became Jackson.1

He died on 29 April 1790 at age 64 at Calais, FranceG.
     He lived at Gorham Point, Nova Scotia, Canada.3
