     Lt.-Col. William Erskine Stobart Whetherly is the son of Lt.-Col. William Stobart Whetherly.1 He married Hon. Rosemary Gertrude Alexandra Lever, daughter of William Hulme Lever, 2nd Viscount Leverhulme and Marion Beatrice Smith, on 19 October 1938.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 1st King's Dragoon Guards.1

     Hon. Rosemary Gertrude Alexandra Lever was born on 23 April 1919.1 She is the daughter of William Hulme Lever, 2nd Viscount Leverhulme and Marion Beatrice Smith.1 She married Lt.-Col. William Erskine Stobart Whetherly, son of Lt.-Col. William Stobart Whetherly, on 19 October 1938.1
     From 19 October 1938, her married name became Whetherly.1

     William Hulme Lever, 2nd Viscount Leverhulme was born on 25 March 1888.2 He was the son of William Hesketh Lever, 1st Viscount Leverhulme and Elizabeth Ellen Hulme.2 He married, firstly, Marion Beatrice Smith, daughter of Bryce Smith, on 13 April 1912.2 He and Marion Beatrice Smith were divorced in 1936.2 He married, secondly, Winifred Agnes Lloyd, daughter of Lt.-Col. J. E. Lloyd, on 20 January 1937.2 He died on 27 May 1949 at age 61.2

     Richard John Carmichael of Carmichael was born on 1 December 1948.1 He is the son of Professor John Leonard Burbidge and Dr. Elizabeth Newton-Clare.2 He married Patricia Margaret Branson, daughter of William Branson, on 8 April 1973.1
     He was given the name of Richard John Burbidge at birth.2 He was educated at Kimbolton School, Leicestershire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Coventry College of Technology, Coventry, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He was registered as a Member, Institute of Chartered Accountants (A.C.A.) in 1971.1 He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants (F.C.A.) in 1972.1 He held the position of 30th Chief of the Name and Arms of Carmichael from.1 On 4 April 1978 he succeeded to the lands of Carmichael and Mauldsley, under a settlement by Sir Windham Eric Francis Carmichael Anstruther, 8th and 11th Bt.1 On 30 July 1981 his name was legally changed to Richard John Carmichael.2 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms as 26th Baron of Carmichael, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court 26th Baron of Carmichael on 30 July 1981.1 He is a potential claimant to the titles of Earl of Hyndford.1
