     James Carmichael, 2nd of Balmedie is the son of John Carmichael, 1st of Balmedie and Isabel Sibbald.2 He married Elizabeth Folkart, daughter of Folkart of Folkarton, on 20 October 1495.2
     He held the office of Sheriff of Lanarkshire between 1495 and 1498.2

Peter Carmichael of Dron1

     Peter Carmichael of Dron was the son of John Carmichael, 1st of Balmedie and Isabel Sibbald.2 He married Euphame Wemyss before 1500.1 He died before 30 May 1545, without male issue.1
     He held the office of Sheriff of Forfarshire in 1500.1 In 1509 who had Charters of the lands of Dron, Craigpottie, Kirkdroyne, Abernethy and others.1 He held the office of Heritable Baillie of Abernethy between 11 July 1528 and 1545, which was held by the Carmichaels of Balmedie, until the abolition of heritable jurisdictions in 1748.1

Elizabeth Carmichael1

     Elizabeth Carmichael is the daughter of John Carmichael, 1st of Balmedie and Isabel Sibbald.2 She married Sir John Somerville, 1st of Cambusnethan, son of John Somerville, 2nd Lord Somerville and Mariota Baillie, on 3 July 1489.1
     From 3 July 1489, her married name became Somerville.1

Sir John Somerville, 1st of Cambusnethan1

     Sir John Somerville, 1st of Cambusnethan was born circa 1457.2 He was the son of John Somerville, 2nd Lord Somerville and Mariota Baillie.3 He married Elizabeth Carmichael, daughter of John Carmichael, 1st of Balmedie and Isabel Sibbald, on 3 July 1489.1 He died on 9 September 1513 at Flodden Field, Northumberland, EnglandG, killed in action.3
     He lived at Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire, Scotland.3 He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.3

     James Carmichael, 3rd of Balmedie and Whelpill was the son of James Carmichael, 2nd of Balmedie and Elizabeth Folkart.2 He married Margaret Kincraigie, daughter of David Kincraigie of that Ilk.1 He died before 5 July 1542.1
