     Lady Sophia Seton was the daughter of Alexander Seton, 1st Earl of Dunfermline and Lilias Drummond.1 She married Sir David Lindsay, 1st Lord Lindsay of Balcarres, son of John Lindsay of Balcarres, Lord Menmuir and Marion Guthrie, on 16 February 1611/12 at Dunfermline, Fife, ScotlandG.1
     From 16 February 1611/12, her married name became Lindsay.

     Henry Brydges, 2nd Duke of Chandos was born on 17 January 1707/8.2 He was the son of James Brydges, 1st Duke of Chandos and Mary Lake.1,3 He was baptised on 1 February 1708 at Kensington, London, EnglandG.3 He married, firstly, Lady Mary Bruce, daughter of Charles Bruce, 4th Earl of Elgin and Lady Anne Saville, on 21 December 1728 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Covent Garden, London, EnglandG.3 He married, secondly, Anne Wells, daughter of John Wells, on 25 December 1744 at Mr. Keith's Chapel, Mayfair, London, EnglandG.3 He married, thirdly, Elizabeth Major, daughter of Sir John Major, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Dale, on 18 July 1767 at West Ham, Essex, EnglandG.4,2 He died on 28 November 1771 at age 63 at Biddesden, Hampshire, EnglandG.4 He was buried on 12 December 1771 at Whitchurch, London, EnglandG.4 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 4 February 1772.4
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)      David Lindsay, 12th Earl of Crawford was baptised on 8 March 1575/76 at Perth, Perthshire, ScotlandG.1 He was the son of David Lindsay, 11th Earl of Crawford and Lilias Drummond.1 He married Lady Jean Kerr, daughter of Mark Kerr, 1st Earl of Lothian and Margaret Maxwell, between 4 March 1606 and 16 April 1610.2 He and Lady Jean Kerr were divorced between 1610 and 1618.1 He died in June 1620 at age 44 at Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, without male issue.1 He was buried at Canongate, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1
     David Lindsay, 12th Earl of Crawford also went by the nick-name of 'the Prodigal Earl'.1 He succeeded as the 12th Earl of Crawford [S., 1398] in November 1607.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] on 10 March 1608.1 He killed his cousin, Sir Walter Lindsay of Balgavies, son of 9th Earl of Crawford. He was almost killed in revenge by the nephew of the murdered man, the young Laird of Edzell.1

     David Lindsay, 11th Earl of Crawford was born circa 1557.1 He was the son of David Lindsay, 10th Earl of Crawford and Margaret Bethune.1 He married, firstly, Lilias Drummond, daughter of David Drummond, 2nd Lord Drummond and Lilias Ruthven, on 12 February 1572/73 at Perth, Perthshire, ScotlandG, with 10,000 marks.1 He married, secondly, Lady Grizel Stewart, daughter of John Stewart, 4th Earl of Atholl and Margaret Fleming, in December 1581.1 He died on 22 November 1607 at Cupar, Fife, ScotlandG.1 He was also reported to have died in October 1607.1 He was buried at Dundee, Angus, ScotlandG.1
     He succeeded as the 11th Earl of Crawford [S., 1398] circa November 1574.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] on 28 October 1575.1 On 17 March 1577/78 he was involved in the fray in which John Lyon, 8th Lord Glamis was slain.1 He held the office of Hereditary Constable of Brechin on 11 September 1587.1 In 1589 he rose up in rebellion with the Catholic Earls of Huntly and Erroll. He fell into the King's hands but was pardoned and allowed safe conduct through England to France.1

     Margaret Bethune was born illegitimately circa 1525.2 She was the daughter of Cardinal David Bethune and Marion Ogilvy.1 She married David Lindsay, 10th Earl of Crawford, son of Alexander Lindsay, Master of Crawford and Jean Sinclair, circa 10 April 1546 at Finhaven Castle, Angus, ScotlandG.1 She died after 1583.
     From 10 April 1546, her married name became Lindsay. After her marriage, Margaret Bethune was styled as Countess of Crawford on 20 September 1558.

     Henry Lindsay, 13th Earl of Crawford was born after 1557.1 He was the son of David Lindsay, 10th Earl of Crawford and Margaret Bethune.1 He married, firstly, Helen Chisholm, daughter of James Chisholm, 3rd of Cromlix and Jean Drummond, before 26 July 1586.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Shaw, daughter of Sir James Shaw of Sauchie and Marjory Kirkcaldy, on 2 December 1599.1 He died in 1623 at Finhaven Castle, Angus, ScotlandG.1 He was buried at Finhave Castle Church, Angus, ScotlandG.1
     He was also known as Henry Charteris.1 He held the office of Master of the Household to Anne of Denmark, Queen Consort.1 He and John Charteris were adopted on 25 September 1584 ratified by Act of Parliament on 20 September 1587.1 He succeeded as the 13th Earl of Crawford [S., 1398] in June 1620.1
     He also had two daughters.2

     Lady Grizel Stewart was the daughter of John Stewart, 4th Earl of Atholl and Margaret Fleming.1 She married David Lindsay, 11th Earl of Crawford, son of David Lindsay, 10th Earl of Crawford and Margaret Bethune, in December 1581.1
     After her marriage, Lady Grizel Stewart was styled as Countess of Crawford in December 1581. From December 1581, her married name became Lindsay.

     Lilias Drummond was born in 1553.2 She was the daughter of David Drummond, 2nd Lord Drummond and Lilias Ruthven.1 She married David Lindsay, 11th Earl of Crawford, son of David Lindsay, 10th Earl of Crawford and Margaret Bethune, on 12 February 1572/73 at Perth, Perthshire, ScotlandG, with 10,000 marks.1 She died on 23 January 1636.2
     From 12 February 1572/73, her married name became Lindsay.1 Circa 1574 She was sent home by her husband in disgrace.1 After her marriage, Lilias Drummond was styled as Countess of Crawford circa November 1574.
