     From 1877, her married name became Ritchie.¹

     James Makepiece Thackeray Ritchie was born on 5 November 1907 at London, England.^2,3 He was the son of William Thackeray Denis Ritchie and Margaret Paulina Booth.¹ He married Anne Dorothy Charlotte Wethered. He died on 28 May 1940 at age 32 at Pas de Calais, France, killed in action.²
     He fought in the Second World War.² He gained the rank of Captain in the 1st Buckinghamshire Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.⁴
