Desmond O'Brien Evelyn ffrench Blake was born on 30 June 1900.1 He was the son of Reverend Robert ffrench Blake and Mary Elizabeth Hewitt.1 He married Elizabeth Iris Cardale, daughter of William Henry Cardale, on 1 August 1939.1 He died on 31 May 1943 at age 42 at North AfricaG, killed in action.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 13th/18th Royal Hussars.1

     From 1 August 1939, her married name became ffrench Blake.1 From 1 February 1951, her married name became Hogg.1 As of 1976, Elizabeth Iris Cardale lived at Ibthorpe House, Hurstbourne Tarrant, Andover, Hampshire, EnglandG.1
