     Reverend Edward Butler was born in 1800.¹ He was the son of Reverend Richard Butler and Martha Rothwell.¹ He married, firstly, Henrietta Skryne, daughter of Henry Skryne, in 1830.¹ He married, secondly, Anne Elizabeth Woodville, daughter of William Woodville, in 1835.¹ He married, thirdly, Blanche Perring, daughter of Sir Phillip Perring, 3rd Bt. and Frances Mary Roe, in 1846.¹ He married, fourthly, Mary Elizabeth Rothwell, daughter of Richard Rothwell and Elizabeth Sutton, in 1868.¹ He died on 23 February 1877.^1,2
     He lived at Llangoed Castle, Breconshire, Wales^G.¹

     Henry Skryne lived at Warleigh, Somerset, England^G.¹

     Henrietta Skryne was the daughter of Henry Skryne.¹ She married Reverend Edward Butler, son of Reverend Richard Butler and Martha Rothwell, in 1830.¹ She died in 1832.¹
     From 1830, her married name became Butler.

     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1838 in the 72nd Highlanders.¹
