     Rt. Hon. Sir Spencer Cecil Ponsonby-Fane was born on 14 March 1824.1 He was the son of John William Ponsonby, 4th Earl of Bessborough and Lady Maria Fane.1 He married Hon. Louisa Anne Rose Lee Dillon, daughter of Henry Augustus Dillon-Lee, 13th Viscount Dillon of Costello-Gallin and Henrietta Browne, on 7 October 1847.1 He died on 1 December 1915 at age 91.1
     He was given the name of Spencer Cecil Ponsonby at birth.1 He held the office of Comptroller of Lord Chamberlain's Department between 1857 and 1901.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)1 In 1875 his name was legally changed to Spencer Cecil Ponsonby-Fane by Royal Licence.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of St. Ernestine of Saxe-Coburg.1 He was awarded the Imperial Service Order (I.S.O.)1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)1 He held the office of Bath King of Arms between 1904 and 1915.1 He lived at Brympton, Yeovil, Somerset, EnglandG.1

Sir Spencer Cecil Ponsonby-Fane, son of John William Ponsonby, 4th Earl of Bessborough and Lady Maria Fane, on 7 October 1847.1 She died on 18 July 1902 at age 76.1
     From 7 October 1847, her married name became Ponsonby. From 1875, her married name became Ponsonby-Fane.1

     Edward Ponsonby, 8th Earl of Bessborough was born on 1 March 1851.1 He was the son of Reverend Walter William Brabazon Ponsonby, 7th Earl of Bessborough and Lady Louisa Susan Cornwallis Eliot.1 He married Blanche Vere Guest, daughter of Sir Josiah John Guest, 1st Bt. and Lady Charlotte Elizabeth Bertie, on 22 April 1875.1 He died on 1 December 1920 at age 69 at Birmingham, Warwickshire, EnglandG.2 He was buried on 7 December 1920 at Pilltown, County Kilkenny, IrelandG.2

     Lady Maria Emma Catherine Coventry was born on 13 December 1836.2 She was the daughter of George William Coventry, Viscount Deerhurst and Harriet Anne Cockerell.1 She married Hon. Gerald Henry Brabazon Ponsonby, son of John William Ponsonby, 4th Earl of Bessborough and Lady Maria Fane, on 9 February 1858.1 She died on 7 February 1912 at age 75.1
     Her married name became Ponsonby. She was granted the rank of an earl's daughter.3

     Blanche Vere Guest was the daughter of Sir Josiah John Guest, 1st Bt. and Lady Charlotte Elizabeth Bertie.1 She married Edward Ponsonby, 8th Earl of Bessborough, son of Reverend Walter William Brabazon Ponsonby, 7th Earl of Bessborough and Lady Louisa Susan Cornwallis Eliot, on 22 April 1875.1 She died on 11 October 1919 at Pilltown, County Kilkenny, IrelandG.2 She was buried on 15 October 1919 at Pilltown, County Kilkenny, IrelandG.2
     Her married name became Ponsonby. After her marriage, Blanche Vere Guest was styled as Countess of Bessborough on 24 February 1906. She was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1918.3
