     Henry Butler was born in 1774.1 He was the son of James Butler and Teresa O'Hogan.2,3 He married Ann Blake, daughter of Xaverius Blake and Isabella Knox, on 1 January 1798.1 He died on 14 October 1814.1
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Clare.1 He lived at Millbrooke, County Clare, IrelandG.1

     Catherine Dorothy Ashworth is the daughter of Arthur Ashworth.1 She married Theobald Blake Butler, son of Theobald FitzWalter Butler and Catherine Elizabeth Barraclough, in 1933.1 She and Theobald Blake Butler were divorced in 1942.1
     From 1933, her married name became Butler.1

Pierce Butler1

     Pierce Butler was born circa 1521.2 He was the son of James Butler, 10th Baron Dunboyne and Lady Joan Butler. He married, secondly, Lady Honora FitzGerald, daughter of James FitzMaurice FitzGerald, 10th Earl of Desmond.1 He married, firstly, Elinor Grace, daughter of Olver Grace.1 He died in 1577.3
     He was also known as Peter Butler.3 He was also known as Piers Butler.4 Pierce Butler also went by the nick-name of Pierce 'na Buile' (or in English, 'Wild Peter.1') On 5 August 1524 2nd s of James, 9th Lord of Dunboyne, by his wife Lady Joan, dau of 8th Earl of Ormonde [inherited 5,000 acres under sett made by his father ].3 On 5 August 1524 he inherited 5000 acres under a settlement made by his father.3 He fought in the Siege of Boulogne in 1544, as commander of the Earl of Ormonde's Kerne.3 He held the office of Sheriff of County Palatine of County Tipperary in 1559.3 From 1568 to 1569 he took part in 'Butlers' War' against Sir PeterCarew.3 In 1571 he was pardoned.3 He lived at Grallagh, County Tipperary, IrelandG.1

     Lady Honora FitzGerald was the daughter of James FitzMaurice FitzGerald, 10th Earl of Desmond.1 She married Pierce Butler, son of James Butler, 10th Baron Dunboyne and Lady Joan Butler.1 She died in 1577.2
     Her married name became Butler.

James Butler1

     James Butler was the son of Pierce Butler and Lady Honora FitzGerald.2 He married Honora O'Dwyer, daughter of Philip O'Dwyer.3 He died in 1579.1 He was also reported to have died in 1569/70.3
     He lived at Ballinrosse, County Tipperary, IrelandG.3 In 1570 he took part in the 'Butlers' War' and was outlawed by Act of Parliament.3 On 2 January 1571 he was pardoned.3

     James Butler was born in 1648/49.2 He was the son of James Butler and Mary Butler.3,2 He married Catherine Kirwan, daughter of Peter Kirwan.2 He died on 11 October 1726.2
     He lived at Doon, County Clare, IrelandG.3 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of Captain between 1689 and 1691 in the Colonel Nicholas Purcell's Horse in King James II's Army in Ireland.2 On 13 February 1689 he was attainted.2 In 1691 having joined the 'Peace Party,' his life was spared although he did not recover his estates.2 He lived at Doone, County Clare, IrelandG.2

     James Blake Butler was born in 1799.2 He was the son of Henry Butler and Ann Blake.1,3 A settlement for the marriage between him and Juliana Selina Comyn was made on 7 November 1828.2 He died on 29 March 1849.2
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1818 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Clare.1 He lived at Glenwilliam, County Clare, IrelandG.2 He was Chairman of the Ennis Board of Guardians in 1849, n which capacity he took a leading part in relief for sufferers in Famine.2

Theobald FitzWalter Butler1

     Theobald FitzWalter Butler was born on 24 November 1845.2 He was the son of James Blake Butler and Juliana Selina Comyn.1,3 He married Catherine Elizabeth Barraclough, daughter of Major John Barraclough, on 16 June 1883.2 He died on 12 June 1914 at age 68.2
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He held the office of Mayor of Barrow between 1906 and 1911.2 He lived at Infield, Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire, EnglandG.2
