     Arnold Duncan McNair, 1st Baron McNair was born on 4 March 1885.1 He was the son of John McNair and Jeannie Ballantyne.1,3 He married Marjorie Bailhache, daughter of Sir Clement Meacher Bailhache and Fanny Elizabeth Liebstein, on 28 March 1912.1 He died on 22 May 1975 at age 90.1

     Marjorie Bailhache was the daughter of Sir Clement Meacher Bailhache and Fanny Elizabeth Liebstein.1,2 She married Arnold Duncan McNair, 1st Baron McNair, son of John McNair and Jeannie Ballantyne, on 28 March 1912.1 She died on 22 January 1971.3
     From 28 March 1912, her married name became McNair.1 After her marriage, Marjorie Bailhache was styled as Baroness McNair on 4 August 1955.

     Clement John McNair, 2nd Baron McNair was born on 11 January 1915.1 He was the son of Arnold Duncan McNair, 1st Baron McNair and Marjorie Bailhache.1 He married Vera Frances Faithfull, daughter of Theodore James Faithfull, on 16 November 1941.2 He died on 7 August 1989 at age 74.1
     He was also known as John.2 He was educated at Shrewsbury School, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at King's College Choir School, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.2 He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1940 and 1945, in Tunisia, Italy and Austria, and he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded.2 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Artillery.2 He wrote the book Wagonload, published 1971.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron McNair, of Gleniffer, co. Renfrew [U.K., 1955] on 22 May 1975.1 He wrote the book A Place called Marathon, published 1976.2 He was member of the General Advisoy Council IBA between 1978 and 1989.2 He was member of the UK Delegation Council of Europe on WEU.2
