     Jane Fortescue Seymour was born in 1825 at Newport, Isle of Wight, England.2 She was the daughter of Reverend George Turner Seymour and Marianne Billingsley.3,2 She married John Duke Coleridge, 1st Baron Coleridge of Ottery St. Mary, son of Rt. Hon. Sir John Taylor Coleridge and Mary Buchanan, on 11 August 1846.1 She died on 6 February 1878.1
     From 11 August 1846, her married name became Coleridge. After her marriage, Jane Fortescue Seymour was styled as Baroness Coleridge of Ottery St. Mary on 10 January 1874.

     Bernard John Seymour Coleridge, 2nd Baron Coleridge of Ottery St. Mary was born on 19 August 1851.3 He was the son of John Duke Coleridge, 1st Baron Coleridge of Ottery St. Mary and Jane Fortescue Seymour.3 He married Mary Alethea Mackarness, daughter of Rt. Rev. John Fielder Mackarness, on 3 August 1876.3 He died on 24 September 1927 at age 76.3
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.3 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Devon.3 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1877 entitled to practise as a barrister.3 He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1877 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Sheffield Attercliffe between 1885 and 1894.3 He was appointed Queen's Counsel (Q.C.) in 1892.3 He held the office of Bencher of the Middle Temple in 1894.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Coleridge of Ottery St. Mary, co. Devon [U.K., 1874] on 14 June 1894.3 He held the office of Judge of the High Court between 1907 and 1923.3 He held the office of Treasurer of the Middle Temple in 1918.3 He was chairman of the Devon Quarter Sessions.3 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.4

     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Crosbie, of Maryborough, Queen's County [I., 1630] on 30 January 1759.3
