     Major Robert Brydges Barclay was born on 22 May 1782.² He was the son of Sir Robert Barclay of Pierston, 8th Bt. and Elizabeth Tickell.¹ He married Jane Williams, daughter of Arthur Williams, on 5 May 1809.² He died on 8 August 1825 at age 43.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the 71st Foot.¹ He fought in the Peninsular Wars, where he was wounded.²

     Jane Williams was the daughter of Arthur Williams.¹ She married Major Robert Brydges Barclay, son of Sir Robert Barclay of Pierston, 8th Bt. and Elizabeth Tickell, on 5 May 1809.² She died on 16 March 1868.²
     From 5 May 1809, her married name became Barclay.¹

     Sir Robert Barclay of Pierston, 9th Bt. was born on 24 July 1819 at Dungannon, County Tyrone, Ireland^G.¹ He was the son of Major Robert Brydges Barclay and Jane Williams.¹ He was baptised on 18 August 1819 at Drumglass, County Armagh, Ireland^G.¹ He died on 19 May 1859 at age 39 at Dungannon, County Tyrone, Ireland^G, unmarried.¹
     He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Barclay, of Pierston, co. Ayr [N.S., 1668] on 14 August 1839.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1846 in the 25th Foot.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1855 in the Lancashire Artillery Militia.¹

     Sir David William Barclay of Pierston, 10th Bt. was born on 5 September 1804.¹ He was the son of Sir Robert Barclay of Pierston, 8th Bt. and Harriette Alicia Durell.¹ He married, firstly, Elise Josephe de Rune, daughter of Charles Malo de Rune, Marquis de Rune, on 16 February 1829.² He married, secondly, Emily Stacey, daughter of James Edmund Stacey, on 19 September 1872.² He died on 23 November 1888 at age 84 at 42 Holland Road, Kensington, London, England^G.¹ He was buried at Paddington Cemetery, Willesden Lane, Paddington, London, England^G.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 99th Foot.² He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of Mauritius.² He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [Mauritius] between 1846 and 1864.² He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Barclay, of Pierston, co. Ayr [N.S., 1668] on 19 May 1859.² He lived at Pierston, Ayrshire, Scotland^G.³

     Elise Josephe de Rune was born circa 1810.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Malo de Rune, Marquis de Rune.¹ She married Sir David William Barclay of Pierston, 10th Bt., son of Sir Robert Barclay of Pierston, 8th Bt. and Harriette Alicia Durell, on 16 February 1829.¹ She died on 22 March 1867 at 137 Westbourne Terrace, Paddington, London, England^G, very suddenly.¹
     From 16 February 1829, her married name became Barclay.¹

     Charles Malo de Rune, Marquis de Rune lived at Mauritius^G.² He lived at Warsey, Picardie, France^G.¹ He gained the title of Marquis de Rune.
