Ada Jane Evelyn1

     Ada Jane Evelyn was the daughter of William John Evelyn and Frances Harriet Chichester.1,2 She married Philip Stewart Mackenzie Arbuthnot, son of William Reierson Arbuthnot and Mary Helen Anstruther, on 11 December 1906.1 She died on 14 October 1946.1
     From 11 December 1906, her married name became Arbuthnot.1 She wrote the book Memories of the Arbuthnots of Kincardineshire and Aberdeenshire.3

     William John Evelyn was born on 27 July 1822.3 He was the son of George Evelyn and Mary Jane Massy-Dawson.3 He married Frances Harriet Chichester, daughter of Reverend George Vaughan Chichester and Harriet Eleanor Lyle, on 28 October 1873.3 He died on 26 June 1908 at age 85.3
     He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for West Surrey between 1849 and 1857.3 He held the office of High Sheriff of Surrey in 1860.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Deptford between 1885 and 1888.3 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Surrey.1 He lived at Wotton, Surrey, EnglandG.1
