     Captain James Agnew was born in 1711.2 He was the son of James Agnew.1 He married, firstly, Margaret (?) before 1738.1 He married, secondly, Rebecca Scott, daughter of Andrew Scott, before 1740.1 He died in 1770 at Pennsylvania, U.S.A.2
     In 1717 he is considered to have moved to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1756 in the Military for Defence against Indians.1
