William Fitzwilliam, 4th Earl Fitzwilliam1

     William Fitzwilliam, 4th Earl Fitzwilliam was born on 30 May 1748 at Milton House, Little Milton, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of William Fitzwilliam, 3rd Earl Fitzwilliam and Lady Anne Watson-Wentworth.3 He married, firstly, Lady Charlotte Ponsonby, daughter of William Ponsonby, 2nd Earl of Bessborough and Lady Caroline Cavendish, on 10 July 1770 at St. George's Hanover Square, London, England.2 He married, secondly, Hon. Louisa Molesworth, daughter of Field Marshal Richard Molesworth, 3rd Viscount Molesworth of Swords and Mary Jenney Ussher, on 21 July 1823 at Bishopscourt, County Kildare, IrelandG.4 He died on 8 February 1833 at age 84 at Milton House, Little Milton, Oxfordshire, England.1,2
     He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Milton [G.B., 1746] on 10 August 1756.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl Fitzwilliam, of Norborough, co. Northampton [G.B., 1746] on 10 August 1756.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Fitzwilliam, Baron Milton, co. Northampton [G.B., 1742] on 10 August 1756.3 He succeeded as the 4th Earl Fitzwilliam, co. Tyrone [I., 1716] on 10 August 1756.3 He succeeded as the 4th Viscount Milton, co. Westmeath [I., 1716] on 10 August 1756.3 He succeeded as the 6th Baron Fitzwilliam, of Liffer, co. Donegal [I., 1620] on 10 August 1756.3 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland in 1795.3 He lived at NorboroughG.

     John de Vere, 15th Earl of Oxford was born circa 1488 at Castle Hedingham, Essex, EnglandG.3 He was the son of John de Vere and Alice Kilrington.1 He married, firstly, Christian Foderingey, daughter of Thomas Foderingey, in 1493/94.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Trussel, daughter of Edward Trussel and Margaret Dun, from 29 April 1507 to 4 July 1509 at Bentley, Rowley near Hull, Yorkshire, EnglandG.3 He died on 21 March 1539/40 at Colne, Essex, EnglandG.3
     He held the office of Esquire of the Body to King Henry VII in 1509.1 He was appointed Knight in 1513.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Essex from 1515 to 1516.1 He held the office of Keeper of Colchester Castle from 1515 to 1516.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Hertfordshire from 1515 to 1516.1 He held the office of Keeper of Colchester Castle from 1519 to 1520.1 He held the office of Keeper of Colchester Castle from 1524 to 1525.1 He held the office of Lord Great Chamberlain in 1526, for life only.1 He succeeded as the 15th Earl of Oxford [E., 1142] on 14 July 1526.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1527.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in March 1530/31.1

     Sir George de Vere was the son of John de Vere, 12th Earl of Oxford and Elizabeth Howard.1 He married Margaret Stafford, daughter of Sir William Stafford.1 He died in 1503.1
     He fought in the Battle of Barnet.1 He was attainted, and was restored on the triumph of King Henry VII.1 He held the office of Chief Steward of St. Osyth's Priory, Essex in 1491.1

     John de Vere, 14th Earl of Oxford was born on 14 August 1499.1 He was the son of Sir George de Vere and Margaret Stafford.1 He married Lady Anne Howard, daughter of Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk and Agnes Tylney.2 He died on 14 July 1526 at age 26, without issue.1
     John de Vere, 14th Earl of Oxford also went by the nick-name of 'Little John of Campes'.1 He succeeded as the 14th Earl of Oxford [E., 1142] on 10 March 1512/13.1 On his death, the post of Lord Great Chamberlain reverted to the Crown.1

     John de Vere, 16th Earl of Oxford was born in 1516 at Castle Hedingham, Essex, EnglandG.1 He was the son of John de Vere, 15th Earl of Oxford and Elizabeth Trussel.2 He married, firstly, Lady Dorothy Neville, daughter of Ralph Neville, 4th Earl of Westmorland and Lady Catherine Stafford, on 3 July 1536.3 He married, secondly, Margery Golding, daughter of John Golding, on 1 August 1548.2 He died on 3 August 1562.2
     He succeeded as the 16th Earl of Oxford [E., 1142] on 21 March 1539/40.2 He fought in the Bolougne Campaign in 1544.2 In 1547 he was declared to have no right to the post of Lord Great Chamberlain.2 He was appointed Knight in February 1546/47.2 He held the office of Joint Lord-Lieutenant of Essex between 1550 and 1553.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1553.2 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Essex from 1558 to 1559.2 He held the office of Lord Great Chamberlain [England] on 15 January 1558/59.2
