     William Lutley Sclater was born on 23 September 1863.1 He was the son of Philip Lutley Sclater and Jane Anne Eliza Hunter Blair.1 He married Charlotte Seymour Mellon, daughter of William Proctor Mellon, on 1 February 1896.1 He died in July 1944 at age 80, killed by enemy action.1
