Admiral Arthur Henry Christian was born on 21 August 1863.2,3 He was the son of George Christian and Sarah Mary Bainbrigge.4 He married Geraldine Diana Monsell, daughter of Colonel Bolton James Alfred Monsell and Mary Beverley Ogle, on 2 January 1911.4 He died on 20 August 1926 at age 62 at Newtimber Place, Hassocks, Sussex, EnglandG.4,5
He was educated at Royal Naval College, Osborne, Isle of Wight, EnglandG.6 He was commissioned in July 1876 with the rank of Midshipman, in the service of the Royal Navy.5 In 1879 He served with the future King George V on board the corvette, H.M.S.
