Gustav Adolf Prinz zu Stolberg-Gedern was born on 6 July 1722.2 He was the son of Friedrich Karl Fürst zu Stolberg-Gedern and Luise Henriette von Nassau-Saarbrücken.3 He married Elisabeth Philippine Claude Prinzessin von Hornes, daughter of Maximilian Emmanuel Prinz von Hornes and Lady Marie Thérèse Bruce, on 22 October 1751.2 He died on 5 December 1757 at age 35.2
