This may have been a case of mistaken identity - his manager resembled Chuchill and he resembled Churchill's bodyguard.2

He was educated at Yale University School of Architecture, New Haven, Connecticut, U.S.A.G.2 He graduated from University of Manchester School of Architecture, Manchester, Lancashire, EnglandG, in 1961 with a Diploma of Architecture.2 He was founder of Foster Associates in 1967.2 He wrote the book The Worl of Foster Associates, published 1979.2 His major projects include US Renault HQ, King's Cross London masterplan, Millenium Tower Tokyo, ITN HQ, Barcelona Telecoms Tower, German Reichstag, American Air Museum Duxford, Bilbao Metro System, Congress Centre Valencia and Hong Kong International Airport.2 He wrote the book Norman Foster, published 1988.2 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1990.2 He wrote the book Foster Associates, published 1992.2 He wrote the book Norman Foster Sketches, published 1992.2 He wrote the book Foster and Partners, published 1996.2 He wrote the book Sir Norman Foster, published 1997.2 He was awarded the Order of Merit (O.M.) in 1997.1 He wrote the book Norman Foster 30 Colours, published 1998.2 He was created Baron Foster of Thames Bank, of Reddish in the County of Greater Manchester [U.K. Life Peer] on 19 July 1999.1 He wrote the book The Norman Foster Studio, published 2000.2
