     Henry Menzies was born in 1856 at New York City, New York, U.S.A.G.1 He married Nancy Jane Christian, daughter of Charles Driver Christian and Maria Lucy Christian, on 19 January 1880 at Norfolk IslandG.1 He died on 5 November 1941.2
     Henry was a compositor at the Melanesian Mission on Norfolk. The original name was Menges, but the entire family changed it's name during World War I because it sounded 'too German'.1 He was Printer & Compositor.1

Henry Walter Harvey Menzies1

     Henry Walter Harvey Menzies was born on 21 May 1901 at Norfolk IslandG.1 He was the son of Susan Menzies.1 He died on 28 May 1945 at age 44 at North BorneoG, while a POW, on the 'Sandakan Death March' (which was said to have made the Bataan Death March look like a picnic!).2,3
     Henry Walter Harvey Menzies also went by the nick-name of Taylor. He gained the rank of Private in the 2/19 Battalion, 8th Australian Division.1 He fought in the Second World War, and became a prisoner of war.1
