     From 4 September 1956, her married name became Rowan-Hamilton.1 She lived in 2003 at The Horse Mill, Stenton, Dunbar, East Lothian, ScotlandG.1

     Gawaine Leslie Rowan-Hamilton was born on 2 April 1923.1 He was the son of Brigadier Gawain Basil Rowan-Hamilton and Phyllis Frances Blackburn.2,3 He married Mary Bridget Blakiston-Houston, daughter of Lt.-Col. John Matthew Blakiston-Houston and Lettice Arden Stobart, on 4 September 1956.2 He died on 6 February 2014 at age 90.4
     He was also known as Gavin.2 He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War in 1942, where he became a POW.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the The Black Watch.1 He was with the Foreign Service in Far East between 1949 and 1953.1 He was a land agent.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (F.R.I.C.S.) in 1970.1 He lived in 1976 at Stenton House, Stenton, Dunbar, East Lothian, ScotlandG.1

     Brigadier Gawain Basil Rowan-Hamilton was born on 5 July 1884.2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Frederick Temple Rowan Rowan-Hamilton and Blanche Mary Fellowes-Gordon.3 He married Phyllis Frances Blackburn, daughter of Hon. Robert Francis Leslie Blackburn, Lord Blackburn and Lady Constance Frances Bowes-Lyon, on 5 October 1916.2 He died on 17 July 1947 at age 63.2
     He was also known as Guy.2 He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1915.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.2 He was commander of the 2nd Battalion, The Black Watch between 1930 and 1933.2 He was commander of the 153rd (Black Watch and Gordon) Infantry Brigade, Territorial Army between 1936 and 1940.2 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King George VI between 1938 and 1939.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Down.2 He retired from the military in 1945, with the rank of Brigadier, late of the The Black Watch.2 He lived at Killyleagh Castle, County Down, IrelandG.1
