Helen Wauchope1

     Helen Wauchope was the daughter of Andrew Wauchope of Niddrie and Alicia Baird.1,2 She married John Spottiswoode of Spottiswoode, son of John Spottiswoode of Spottiswoode and Margaret Penelope Strahan, on 13 September 1809.3 She died in 1870.3
     From 13 September 1809, her married name became Spottiswoode.4

     Andrew Wauchope of Niddrie was born in 1735.2 He was the son of Andrew Wauchope of Niddrie and Helen Hume.2 He married Alicia Baird, daughter of William Baird, 5th of Newbyth and Alicia Johnston, on 26 September 1776.2
     He fought in the Battle of Minden.3 He gained the rank of Captain in the 1st Regiment of Dragoon Guards.3

Sir William Purves-Hume-Campbell, 6th Bt.1

     Sir William Purves-Hume-Campbell, 6th Bt. was born on 4 October 1767.1 He was the son of Sir Alexander Purves, 5th Bt. and Catherine le Blanc.2 He married Charlotte Rey on 2 May 1812.3 He died on 9 April 1833 at age 65 at Marchmont House, Berwickshire, ScotlandG.1
     He was given the name of William Purves at birth.3 In 1792 his name was legally changed to William Purves-Hume-Campbell under the will of his grand-uncle, Hugh, Earl of Marchmont.3 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Purves, of Purves Hall, co. Berwick [N.S., 1665] on 13 November 1812.1

     Charlotte Rey married, firstly, Anthony Hall.3 She married, secondly, Sir William Purves-Hume-Campbell, 6th Bt., son of Sir Alexander Purves, 5th Bt. and Catherine le Blanc, on 2 May 1812.3
     Her married name became Hall.3 From 2 May 1812, her married name became Purves-Hume-Campbell.1

     Sir Alexander Purves, 5th Bt. was baptised on 15 January 1739.1 He was the son of Sir William Purves, 4th Bt. and Lady Anne Hume-Campbell.1 He married, firstly, Catherine le Blanc on 23 August 1766.2 He married, secondly, Mary Home, daughter of Sir James Home, 3rd Bt., on 21 June 1775 at Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland.3 He married, thirdly, Magdalen Edmonston, daughter of James Edmonston, between 5 November 1785 and 9 November 1785 at St. Cuthbert's, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.3 He married, fourthly, Isabella Hunter, daughter of James Hunter, on 19 January 1789 at Eccles, Berwickshire, Scotland.3 He died on 13 November 1812 at age 73.1
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Purves, of Purves Hall, co. Berwick [N.S., 1665] on 18 June 1762.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 18th Foot.2

     Catherine le Blanc married Sir Alexander Purves, 5th Bt., son of Sir William Purves, 4th Bt. and Lady Anne Hume-Campbell, on 23 August 1766.2 She died on 12 February 1772 at Purves Hall, Berwickshire, ScotlandG.1
     From 23 August 1766, her married name became Purves.1

     Sir William Purves, 4th Bt. was baptised on 14 January 1701.1 He was the son of Sir William Purves, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Deans.1 He married Lady Anne Hume-Campbell, daughter of Alexander Hume-Campbell, 2nd Earl of Marchmont and Margaret Campbell, before 1736.1 He died on 18 June 1762 at age 61.1
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Purves, of Purves Hall, co. Berwick [N.S., 1665] in 1730.1

     Lady Anne Hume-Campbell was born on 3 August 1698.1 She was the daughter of Alexander Hume-Campbell, 2nd Earl of Marchmont and Margaret Campbell.1 She married Sir William Purves, 4th Bt., son of Sir William Purves, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Deans, before 1736.1 She died on 2 April 1784 at age 85 at Berwick, ScotlandG.1
     From before 1736, her married name became Purves.1

     Alexander Hume-Campbell, 2nd Earl of Marchmont was born on 1 January 1674/75.3 He was the son of Patrick Hume, 1st Earl of Marchmont and Grizel Ker.3,4 He married Margaret Campbell, daughter of Sir George Campbell of Cessnock, on 29 July 1697.5 He died on 27 February 1739/40 at age 65 at London, EnglandG.5
     They also had other issue who died unmarried.6 He was given the name of Alexander Hume at birth.6 He was educated at Utrecht University, Utrecht, The NetherlandsG.7 He was a practising Advocate in 1696.7 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1696.7 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Kirkwall between 1696 and 1702.7 His name was legally changed to Alexander Hume-Campbell.6 He held the office of Lord of Session as Lord Cessnock between 1704 and 1714.7 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)      Margaret Campbell was the daughter of Sir George Campbell of Cessnock.1 She married Alexander Hume-Campbell, 2nd Earl of Marchmont, son of Patrick Hume, 1st Earl of Marchmont and Grizel Ker, on 29 July 1697.2 She died on 16 March 1722.2
     They also had other issue who died unmarried.3 From 29 July 1697, her married name became Hume-Campbell.2
