Richard Parsons, 2nd Earl of Rosse

     Richard Parsons, 2nd Earl of Rosse was born circa 1718.1 He was the son of Richard Parsons, 1st Earl of Rosse and Mary Powlett.2 He married Olivia Edwards, daughter of Hugh Edwards, on 16 February 1754.2 He died on 27 August 1764, without issue.3
     He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Oxmantown [I., 1681] on 26 June 1741.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Parsons [I., 1620] on 26 June 1741.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Rosse [I., 1718] on 26 June 1741.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Rosse, co. Wexford [I., 1681] on 26 June 1741.2 On his death his titles became extinct.3

Olivia Edwards1

     Olivia Edwards is the daughter of Hugh Edwards.2 She married, firstly, Richard Parsons, 2nd Earl of Rosse, son of Richard Parsons, 1st Earl of Rosse and Mary Powlett, on 16 February 1754.1 She married, secondly, John Bateman, son of Rowland Bateman and Elizabeth Colthurst, on 8 October 1770.1
     After her marriage, Olivia Edwards was styled as Countess of Rosse on 16 February 1754. From 16 February 1754, her married name became Parsons. From 8 October 1770, her married name became Bateman.

Sir William Parsons, 2nd Bt.

     Sir William Parsons, 2nd Bt. was the son of Richard Parsons and Lettice Loftus.1 He married Hon. Catherine Jones, daughter of Arthur Jones, 2nd Viscount Ranelagh and Lady Catherine Boyle.2 He died on 31 December 1658.2
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Parsons [I., 1620] circa 28 February 1649/50.2

     Richard Parsons was the son of Sir William Parsons, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Lany.1 He married Lettice Loftus, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir Adam Loftus and Jane Vaughan.1 He died after 1642.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Fethard [Ireland] between 1634 and 1639.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wicklow [Ireland] between 1639 and 1642.1

     Admiral Sir Peter Charles Abbott was born on 12 February 1942.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Dennis Abbott and Delphine McConaghey.1 He married Susan Philippa Grey in 1965.1 He died on 28 September 2015 at age 73.2
     He was educated at St. Edward's School, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Queens' College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Second Lieutenant in 1963 in the Royal Marine Forces Volunteer Reserve.1 He gained the rank of Sub-Lieutenant in 1964 in the Royal Navy.1 He graduated from Queens' College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1966 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was Commanding Officer of the H.M.S. Chawton in 1972.1 He gained the rank of Commander in 1975.1 He was Commanding Officer of the H.M.S. Ambuscade in 1976.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1980.1 He was Commanding Officer of the H.M.S.      Lettice Loftus was the daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir Adam Loftus and Jane Vaughan. She married, firstly, Richard Parsons, son of Sir William Parsons, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Lany.1
     Her married name became Parsons.1

Sir William Parsons, 1st Bt.1

     Sir William Parsons, 1st Bt. was the son of James Parsons and Catherine Fenton.2,3 He married Elizabeth Lany, daughter of John Lany.2 He died circa 28 February 1649/50. He was buried on 2 March 1649/50.2
     He emigrated to IrelandG arriving on circa 1590 Norfolk.4 He was Commissioner of Plantations.2 He held the office of Surveyor-General [Ireland] in 1602.2 He and Sir Laurence Parsons were joint supervisor of Crown lands in 1611.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newcastle, County Dublin [Ireland] between 1613 and 1615.2 He was appointed Knight in 1620.2 He was created 1st Baronet Parsons [Ireland] on 10 November 1620.5 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Wicklow [Ireland] between 1639 and 1648.2 He held the office of Lord Deputy [Ireland].1 He held the office of Lord Justice [Ireland] between 1640 and 1643, jointly, when he was dismissed and imprisoned for suspected treason.4

     James Parsons was the son of Thomas Parsons.1 He married Catherine Fenton, daughter of Henry Fenton and Cicely Beaumont.1
     He lived at Norfolk, EnglandG.2 He was also known as William Parsons.2

Sir Laurence Parsons1

     Sir Laurence Parsons was the son of James Parsons and Catherine Fenton.2,3 He married Jane Malham.2 He died on 8 September 1628.2
     He and Sir William Parsons, 1st Bt. were joint supervisor of Crown lands in 1611.2 He was appointed Knight in 1612.2 He held the office of Attorney-General of Munster in 1612.2 He held the office of Second Baron of the Exchequer in 1624.2
