     Sir Robert Kerr, younger of Cessford was the son of Walter Kerr of Cessford and Agnes Crichton.¹ A contract for the marriage of Sir Robert Kerr, younger of Cessford and Christian Rutherfoord was signed on 12 February 1484.¹ He died after 6 November 1500.¹
     He held the office of Master of the King's Artillery.¹ He lived at Cessford, Scotland^G.¹

     Christian Rutherfoord was the daughter of James Rutherfoord of that Ilk and Margaret Erskine.^1,2 A contract for the marriage of Christian Rutherfoord and Sir Robert Kerr, younger of Cessford was signed on 12 February 1484.¹
     Her married name became Kerr.

     Walter Kerr of Cessford was the son of Andrew Kerr of Auldtounburn and Cessford and unknown daughter Douglas.² He married, firstly, Isabel Hay, daughter of John Hay, 1st Lord Hay of Yester.³ He married Agnes Crichton, daughter of William Crichton of that Ilk, 1st Lord Crichton, on 20 October 1487.¹ He died on 25 November 1501.
     He lived at Caverton, Scotland^G.³ Between 13 March 1493 and 1499 he had a Crown charter of Cessford.³ He lived at Cessford, Scotland^G.³

     Margaret Kerr was the daughter of Walter Kerr of Cessford and Agnes Crichton.¹

     Andrew Kerr of Auldtounburn and Cessford was born in 1405 at Auldtounburn, Roxburghshire, Scotland.² He was the son of Andrew Kerr of Auldtounburn.¹ He married, secondly, Margaret Tweedie, daughter of James Tweedie of Drummelzier.¹ He married, firstly, unknown daughter Douglas, daughter of William Douglas, 2nd of Cavers.¹ He died after 8 May 1481.¹
     In 1451 he had a charter of the Corwn lands of the Barony of Old Roxburgh.¹ He held the office of Warden of the Middle March in 1457.¹ He lived at Auldtounburn, Scotland^G.¹ He lived at Cessford, Scotland^G.¹

     Margaret Tweedie is the daughter of James Tweedie of Drummelzier.¹ She married Andrew Kerr of Auldtounburn and Cessford, son of Andrew Kerr of Auldtounburn.¹
     Her married name became Kerr.¹

     Andrew Kerr, younger of Aultounbrun and Cessford was the son of Andrew Kerr of Auldtounburn and Cessford and unknown daughter Douglas.^2,3 He married Margaret Hepburn, daughter of Sir Patrick Hepburn, 1st Lord Hailes and Ellen Wallace.¹ He died circa 27 April 1467.²
     He was also known as Andrew Ker of Cessford.² In 1466 he was pardoned for helping abduct King James III from Linlithgow.²

     Thomas Kerr, 1st of Ferniehirst was the son of Andrew Kerr of Auldtounburn and Cessford and Margaret Tweedie.¹ He married Margaret Ker, daughter of Sir Thomas Ker of Ferniehurst.¹ He died on 24 June 1484.¹
     He lived at Smailholm, Berwickshire, Scotland^G.¹ He lived at Ferniehirst, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹

     Margaret Hepburn was born between 1430 and 1440.² She was the daughter of Sir Patrick Hepburn, 1st Lord Hailes and Ellen Wallace. She married, secondly, Andrew Kerr, younger of Aultounbrun and Cessford, son of Andrew Kerr of Auldtounburn and Cessford and unknown daughter Douglas.¹ She married, thirdly, Archibald Forrester, 5th of Corstorphine, son of Alexander Forrester, 4th of Corstorphine.³ She married, firstly, Patrick Halyburton, 2nd Lord Dirletoun, son of John Halyburton, 1st Lord Dirletoun and Janet Seton.⁴ She died after 1480.³
     Her married name became Kerr.¹ Her married name became Halyburton.⁴ Her married name became Forrester.³

     Margaret Ker was the daughter of James Ker of Gateshaw.¹ A contract for the marriage of Margaret Ker and John Home was signed on 20 March 1471/72.¹
     From 20 March 1471/72, her married name became Home.
