Robert Borthwick1

     Robert Borthwick was the son of William Borthwick, 2nd of Soltray.1 He died after 1576, without issue.1
     He was an 'officer sumtyme in the chancellorie.1' He lived at Treeburnford, ScotlandG.1

     Catherine Borthwick was the daughter of Sir William Borthwick, 2nd Lord Borthwick and unknown wife (?)1 She married, firstly, Alexander Home before 1508.2 She married, secondly, William Cuninghame, 4th Earl of Glencairn, son of Cuthbert Cuninghame, 3rd Earl of Glencairn and Lady Marion Douglas, before 10 July 1509.1 She died after 17 January 1527/28.2
     From before 1508, her married name became Home.2 From before 10 July 1509, her married name became Cuninghame.

     Her married name became Sinclair.1

     Sir Oliver Sinclair of Roslin was born before 1475.2 He was the son of William Sinclair, 1st Earl of Caithness and Marjory Sutherland.3 He married Margaret Borthwick, daughter of Sir William Borthwick, 2nd Lord Borthwick and unknown wife (?).1 He died before December 1537.4
     He was ancestor of the extinct St. Clairs of Rosslyn.3

     From before 1450, her married name became Maxwell.1

     Sir John Maxwell, 5th of Calderwood and 1st of Newark was born circa 1420.2 He was the son of Sir Robert Maxwell of Calderwood and Elizabeth Denniston.2 He married Margaret Borthwick, daughter of Sir William Borthwick, 1st Lord Borthwick and unknown wife (?), before 4 December 1450.1 He died in 1476.2
