Mondo continues its popular line of 1/6 scale collectible figures with Kurt Russell’s MacReady from John Carpenter’s beloved 1982 sci-fi horror film, The Thing! The figure will be available as both a Regular Edition and a Deluxe Timed Edition, which also includes the exclusive dog and spider-head creatures.  With this figure in your collection it’ll feel like you’re actually at U.S. Outpost #31 in Antarctica!

The pre-order window for The Thing MacReady Deluxe Timed Edition 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure is open from now through 11:59pm CT on Friday, November 10th, at MondoShop.com. The Regular Edition will be available longer and at a variety of different collectible stores around the country. The Deluxe Timed Edition will retail for $265 while the Regular Edition retails for $235.

The Thing MacReady 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure comes with a Fabric Faux Leather Jacket, Fabric Flight Suit, Fabric Under Shirt, Faux Leather Belt, Standard Head, Frozen Head, Shot Gun, Pistol, Pistol Holster, Flame Thrower Pack, Flame Thrower, Detachable Flame Accessory, Hand Sets (Fist, Trigger and C-Grip), Gloved Hands, and a Figure Stand. The Deluxe Timed Edition includes all of the above plus the Spider-Head Creature Articulated figure and the Mutated Dog Creature Figure!

Today, Mondo is releasing two new posters from artist Rafa Orrico for John Carpenter’s seminal 1982 nihilistic sci-fi creature feature, The Thing! As Mondo explained about Rafa, “We love his work. There’s a strong sense of design, as well as a certain raw and alien sensibility that work in great harmony. Often when we’re collaborating on something together, it’s hard to pick a favorite among the bunch, so we decide not to.”

The Thing (Version 1) and The Thing (Version 2) by Rafa Orrico are 18”x24” hand numbered screen prints. Each is limited to 165 pieces and retails for $55.  These rad movie posters will go on sale at 11am CT on Thursday, September 15th, at MondoShop.com via The Drop.

San Diego Comic-Con 2022 is just a few weeks away and NECA has already some awesome new exclusives for this year! Check out the SDCC 2022 Exclusive The Thing 40th Anniversary Poster Figure 7” action figure. The Thing, John Carpenter’s acclaimed slow-build horror film classic, follows a 12-man research team that finds something in the Antarctic Circle that’s been waiting for over 100,000 years.

Recreating the original and iconic one sheet movie poster artwork for the theatrical run, this special deco action figure stands approximately 7” tall and features an LED light in the head and interchangeable and removable faceplates to create the poster’s signature burst of light. It comes packaged in a display friendly 5th panel window box styled after the movie poster.

Earlier this year, Universal Pictures released a Special Edition 4K Blu-Ray of John Carpenter’s The Thing, which featured new art by Vice Press co-founder and creative director, Matt Ferguson. Matt’s art for the release cleverly built on the box art he produced for StudioCanal’s Special Edition 4K John Carpenter Collection, which included They Live, Escape From New York and Prince of Darkness. Now that beautiful artwork is being released today as an officially licensed print!

The Thing by Matt Ferguson is a 24”x36” hand numbered offset lithograph.  The Regular Timed Edition on 300gsm Archival Paper will go on sale at 1pm ET today, Tuesday, December 7th, at Vice-Press.com for £44.99 and will be available through midnight GMT on Sunday, December 12th.

Vice Press has released this epic new movie poster for John Carpenter’s The Thing by artist Drew Millward! Drew really knocked it out of the park with his line work and use of color in this fantastic screen print for the cult classic.

The Thing by Drew Millward is a 24”x18” hand numbered 7 color screen print. The Regular Edition is limited to 200 pieces and retails for £39.99, while the Metallic Variant is limited to 175 pieces and retails for £49.99. Later this week, Vice Press will be releasing a killer, officially licensed movie poster for John Carpenter’s 1982 sci-fi horror film The Thing by artist Florey! What a freaking striking image of Kurt Russel’s R.J. MacReady looking out at The Thing in the frozen tundra. 

The Thing by Florey is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print.  The Regular Edition features 8 colors, is limited to 200 pieces and will retail for £44.99, while the Glow in the Dark Variant features 9 colors with a GID layer, is limited to 100 pieces and will retail for £54.99.  Both versions of this movie poster will go on sale at 6pm BST this Tuesday, May 18th, exclusively at Vice-Press.com.

Vice Press is teaming up with Bottleneck Gallery to release a brand new 3D Lenticular Edition of Drew Struzan’s iconic movie poster for John Carpenter’s The Thing! As Vice Press explained, “Well known to John Carpenter and cinema fans alike, Drew’s iconic imagery for The Thing comes to life in these amazing lenticular prints. We’ve worked closely with the original source images to ensure that the art is replicated to the highest quality”.

There are two styles of 3D Lenticular Movie Posters being produced by Vice Press and Bottleneck Gallery: a thinner (1mm), flexible PET lenticular print mounted on dense paper backing. This option is more flexible, lighter, and thinner. Then there’s a thick lenticular print (4mm), akin to plexi-glass, called polystyrene. BNG calls this one Lenticular Plex for ease of differentiation. This option looks and feels like a sheet of plexiglass but with a lenticular lens. As with all lenticular prints, they are best viewed from about 4 to 6 feet away from the subject. This allows the lens to do what it does best and gives the best 3D effect.

The Thing by Drew Struzan is a 24”x36” hand numbered 3D Lenticular Print and will be available in a Movie Poster Edition and an Art Print Edition. Each version will be available in the 3D Lenticular and the 3D Lenticular Plex.  The 1mm 3D Lenticular of each edition will be limited to 300 pieces and retail for £75, while the 4mm 3D Lenticular of each edition will be limited to 150 pieces and retail for £150.  All four posters will go on sale at 12pm EST on Thursday, February 25th, at Vice-Press.com.
