Hello, welcome to my talk page!

If you want to leave a message, please do it at the bottom, as a new section, for better formatting. You can do that by simply pressing "add topic" on the top of this page. And don't forget to sign your messages with four tildes, like this: ~~~~

Attention: I prefer to keep discussions unfragmented. If you leave a comment for me here, I will most likely respond to it on this same page—my talk page—as an effort to keep the entire conversation in one place. By the same token, if I leave a comment on your talk page, please respond to it there. Remember, we can use our watchlist to keep track of when responses are made. At the same time, feel free to send an alert to me on this page about a comment you have left elsewhere.

Thank you!

Thanks for answering on the noticeboard

I now reverted 3 edits from an IP (and I will not start an edit war further even when expecting an additional revert), but would it be possible for an admin to follow what happens now? Revert and patrol from the same (hidden) IP number? Q68078020, Q68078027, Q31274581. Thanks a lot. Futhermore one more question: In dewiki I see directly in the page's history, who patrolled a page. The same functionality is not available on Wikidata? Florentyna (talk) 19:18, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Maxime 14:00, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Maxime Ravel, I've sent you an email. --Wüstenspringmaus talk 14:31, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Merci beaucoup ! J'ai répondu. Maxime 15:11, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wikidata Entry for instruments

[edit]

Hi Wüstenspringmaus,

I hope I am in the right place for a question :-) about scientific facilities.

Some instrument facilities like : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanford_Synchrotron_Radiation_Lightsource have a wikidata (https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q7598799), SOLEIL synchrotron (https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q112513), ESRF (https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q901751)

Would it be acceptable to create Wikidata id for instruments (typically beamlines) hosted within in the Facility ?

In astronomy instruments, I see for example one example of this kind of composition with physical instrument with same granularity : https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q1192324 ("LOFAR") "part of" https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q60643512 (Nancay Obeservatory)

These instruments would name like : "ESRF - Beamline ID1", "ESRF - Beamline BM2", "ESRF - Beamline DUBBLE", "ESRF - Beamline XMAS", "ESRF - Cryo Electron Microscope - CM01"

These large instruments attached to Synchrotron ring are mentioned in scientific publications, we would need public wikidata id to link them. These references are quite stable in time, these beamline entries have often fixed latitude longitude, a few reference publications, some have nicknames in some institutes, most have acronyms.

Thanks,
