- Motivation
The CTHS is a French learned society created in 1834 which contains a lot of informations about artists. Note there's also a different URL which is used to request information on an organization (ex : leads to nothing but leads to ROGNIAT Louis. JeanBono (talk) 19:32, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
Changes
[edit]This property has just been found to be an exact equivalent to CTHS person ID (P2383). This other one was already used more than 6,000 times while CTHS society ID (P1961) was used only 6 times. Instead of deleting the property, I changed its scope a little bit so that instead of targeting people it would target a learned society (Q955824). The database maintained by the Comité des travaux historiques et scientifiques (Q2985434) is twofold and there was no property allowing us to import the IDs related to the scientific associations. Now this is what CTHS society ID (P1961) does. Thierry Caro (talk) 17:19, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
I don't think this property should be limited by country
[edit]Currently if an object with this proparty doesn't also have the property country::France it'll return the message An entity with CTHS society ID should also have a statement country France.
I don't think this is appropriate as for example Q3488633 directs to http://cths.fr/an/societe.php?id=100600, with CHTS pointing to french speaking countries, so not limiting to france: Domaines géographiques: Etranger, Pays francophones --Deelthx (talk) 10:01, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, I don't think it's meant to be limited to France. Looking at Wikidata:Database_reports/Constraint_violations/P1961#"Item_country_(P17)_=_France_(Q142)"_violations, most do need a statement P17=Q142. I refined the constraint a bit based on that. What do you think? --- Jura 10:23, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- That's a very interesting page you linked, I didn't know we had these! It seems quite a few objects that violate the constriction at the moment are Swiss or Belgian. Altough it seems most indeed need P17=Q142. If I interpret CTHS correctly, it could be any country that is French speaking. Perhaps, if it's possible, a constriction that allows any value for country that also has official language P37 French? Alternativly, it seems CTHS captures addresses under Coordonnées, so we could restrict it to need a value in country P17 and hope it gets filled in correctly. --Deelthx (talk) 12:31, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
