Ok it took me a minute...more like an hour to figure out what to do here. If you look along the banks and the little mounds in the water you'll come across what looks like a "burrow" mound. Much like the mounds you see in Northern with those bugs. posting screenshotsComment by pmakaro
If Counting Argali is the worst Dragonflight daily/WQ then I nominate this one for second place. You regularly lose control of the otter using the "Strengthen Grip" command, which has a 7 sec CD, to regain control. I've had times where I had uninterrupted control for 15 sec, and times where the otter would go nuts every 5 seconds. During these uncontrolled times the otter can backtrack or just run off a ledge. If this wasn't frustrating enough just like Counting Argali if you don't return the otter fast enough he will despawn and you get to start again.Edit: This is now probably the worst since Counting Argali now only requires one sheep and has marks for where to go.

Look for giant otters in mounds and bushes.Try to get them as close to the camp of the quest giver as possible.
You do have to take these otters all the way over to the camp of the quest giver.

Take them back to the center of the camp of the quest giver.Comment by GiantMachine
Honk Honk clown quest alert. You're better off avoiding this quest for your own sanity unless you are truly desperate for centaur rep.Comment by Hiksday
This quest is incredibly annoying and unfun, but thankfully only takes 5 minutes. It's only frustrating to do but its easy.Comment by Jupedx
Spent 5 minutes trying to get a single otter to move more then 100 yards, came here to read comments and instantly abandoned the quest. I do not care for that little rep to waste so much time.Comment by Slushy22
I found a pretty easy solution to riding the otter: Hold both mouse buttons to move forward. When the otter gets distracted push (1) action button and then let go of your left mouse button and left click 3-4 times until he corrects. You should then have about 8 seconds or so of smooth controlled running before it happens again and then your CD is up and you repeat the process 3-4 times to return. You are going south west back to the camp where you got the quest, the north side of the mountain is faster (Thanks Nightli)

So, I found it easier to press the grip action button and you will see a 6 second countdown. What I did was moved until 2 seconds. Stopped, waited to refresh the grip, then move again from 6 seconds and stopped at 2 seconds. I repeated this until I got back to camp. Only a couple of times it resisted, but overall, saved me a lot of time fighting it.Comment by Mypciscraze
Hi allThis is a very nice Quest .... if you not nice xD.
I present You Daily Quest The Otter Side. You can do it when Aylaag Camp is up in Ohn'ahran Plains to get reputation for Maruuk Centaur.
See My Video if need it - https://youtu.be/PiJn7lZINZ8
On This Quest You need to Find and bring to camp 3 Gargantuan River Otter. First You need to find them They are hide in Otter Burrow ( can look like grass or hole in the ground ) Prass on them then Gargantuan River Otter will spawn, press on Gargantuan River Otter then you will take control on it, now you need to go to camp to quest giver. If you lose control use skill 1. TIP - if you are fast enough you can use same Gargantuan River Otter xD. any way best place to find them is /way 76.61 27.24.
Good Luck with this nice Quest :D.
Hope That Help You :)

Hope this quest gets changed just like the argali one (to just one).I did find a trick where if I continuously spam clicked both left and right mouse button it would no longer go wild, making it just a walk to the camp and nothing more.
Note that I only figured out above on my last Otter so it might've just been a one off bug, still worth a try I'd say.

one of the worst quests in DF so far. pretty close to the week 1 bring back 3 goats back to the camp quest. just make the otter auto run to the camp and give us more buttons to press. mindlessly running towards the camp pressing the same button over and over again is ultra boring and annoyingComment by Tirris
Tbh... I didn't find this as nearly difficult as the comments say it was. Find the otter, hop on and start running to the camp. As soon as the otter starts to spazz out, stop running/press your action button to hold on, and then continue running and you'll be in control. You may need to recenter the direction after you regain control, but honestly, it wasn't NEARLY as bad as the quest where you gather the 3 sheep. Hopefully this helps someone!Comment by drmark1
Seems like the further from the camp you are the more issues you have getting them there. Get as close to the camp as possible.Comment by tale
Fun harder.File under: quests never to bother with a second time.
Fool me once ...

After many frustrating attempts, I finally figure out how to do this quest, It is fairly simple now and takes longer just to find the mounds. As soon as you get on otter, just push W always and hold right-mouse click to steer, only pressing the button when he goes crazy. It is very simple tbf, whole quest took about 2 minutes total for 3.Hope this helps.

This is a really awful quest. If you don't need the rep it's not worth doing. When you take control of the otter it will frequently start moving randomly and you must use an ability to wrestle it under control. You must keep doing this all the way back to camp, three times.
Don't bother with it!

Got dizzy after doing it. Seriously though, who designed the centaur dailies? They're disgusting...Comment by cjsigler

This quest is very easy. All you have to do is to set your tom tom arrow to the huntmaster. Then get your otter and spam the button following the tom tom arrow.
It took me less than 3 minutes to get all three to him.

Several times on the last Otter, I hit the button to make the otter behave and nothing happened except the power went on cooldown. The otter continued to run amuck. This happened three times in a row right inside the stupid camp. This one joins the sheep gathering quest where you have to bring 3 back to the shephard in the "Will not do this one ever again" box.Comment by splatomat
It seems like they fixed/modified this quest to be a lot less frustrating. Of the three otters I just returned, I only had to regain control a total of maybe 5 times. Hopefully folks have a lot less trouble now.Comment by Ozan
Pathetic... Waste of time...Comment by letsdothis
To whom ever designed this quest, WHO HURT YOU?Comment by pilotmarc
1 was enough, why 3? lolEdit: Found more after seeing an Otter Burrow when I hovered my mouse over it on error. Look in the dirt for more.

OMG this quest. OMG this is a HORRIBLE quest. WHY? WHY? Blizzard, why do you insist on making infuriating quests? The burrows are so few and far between that it took me 15 min just to find one burrow! HOLY MOLY Stop making lame quests BlizComment by Moin
It is pretty easy.In the marked region there are piles of earth with cracks on the ground.
Clicking them spawns an ottuk.
Ride them home to the center of the camp.
When they go wild use the skill.
Comment by SBahnBerlin
The wandering around spell which requires you to use "Tighten Grip" interrupts auto-running.Comment by SBahnBerlin
PS: the Aylaag Quests count as World Quests if you have a Contract active. With Contract: Artisan's Consortium up you get an extra 600 reputation. (150 per quest, I had 4 quests available)Comment by drpimento
it doesn't always work the same way. I've found usually, that you just steer and special button and you're good. One time I tried to outsmart it and special button before I need it and that seemed to lose sync. But, now, it was losing sync left and right. The usual way didn't work at all. Really not hard, just a hassle and took about twice as long as usual. If it worked as normal, kind of a fun little mini-game, but the un-syncing randomness makes it annoying.Comment by CoaFeanaro
Don't be like me and ((on top of trying to control your otter)) try to avoid the hostile animals in the area. They won't attack you while on otter :)Comment by HannaVictoria
How do you turn these infernal otters in! You can't interact with him, occupying the circle does nothing, getting off just despawns your hard won otter for nothing! The Otter Side
