Supposedly a mount for the horde and alliance. I no longer have to be horde to enjoy raptors or a hunter to enjoy that skin! ty blizzComment by Wamo
Just got this from a Primal Egg, which dropped from a Direhorn mob on the Isle of Giants. Will upload a picture. Lovely looking mount!

One of 4x Raptors introduced in 5.2.- Reins of the Bone-White Primal Raptor from A Mountain of Giant Dinosaur Bones
- Reins of the Black Primal Raptor from Primal Egg
- Reins of the Green Primal Raptor from Primal Egg
- Reins of the Red Primal Raptor from Primal Egg
Primal Egg Info:
- Drops from Elite Dinosaurs in Isle of Giants which is the island north of Kun'Lai Summit
- Each Elite has 2-13 million health and drops 1x-45x Bones.
- Is Unique and only hold one at a time. 100% sure you can't see another if it drops--others in party can however.
- The fact that it's unique and can't loot more than 1 will greatly skew wowhead drop% listing as ppl continue to farm to reach 9999 Bones with egg in bag
- 100% chance at hatching 1 of 3 raptors: Reins of the Black Primal Raptor, Reins of the Green Primal Raptor, Reins of the Red Primal Raptor
- I just hatched 5x on 5x different chars on 3/11/12 and got in this order: Black, Red, Red, Green, Black. The same mount can be received more than once
- Keep in mind the odds of getting all 3/3 different colors on first three eggs are just 2 in 9 (or 22%).
Giant Dinosaur Bone Info:
- Drop from Elites in Isle of Giants which is the island north of Kun'Lai Summit
- Each Elite has 2-13 million health and drops 1x-44x Bones.
- Currently stack to 999 (that's still 10x stacks of bag space reserved for this)
- Currency for Spectral Porcupette x1000, Spirit of Harmony x100, Mote of Harmony x10, or about 2gold x1
- Full 5.2 Review with rare spawns and maps provided.
Isle of Giants Elite Info:
- Zandalari Dinomancer - 2 million health, 1-2x Bones, also drops 4x pets
- Primal Direhorn Hatchling - 3.1 million health, 7-9x Bones, Growl,Triple Puncture,Trihorn Charge
- Primal Direhorn - 8.1 million health, 18-22x Bones, Double Swipe,Triple Puncture,Trihorn Charge
- Pterrorwing Skyscreamer - 6.3 million health, 15-17x Bones, Skycall
- Young Primal Devilsaur - 4.7 million health, 11-13x Bones, Crush
- Primal Devilsaur - 13 million health, 35-45x Bones, Piercing Roar

*cough* It's a Venomhide Ravasaur mount... the Hordes version of the Winterspring Sabre.. yet more Horde models (even skins in this case) available to Alliance.Gief more Alliance models for the Horde =p
Comment by Aquifel
Its nice to have new mounts, but i really wish we could get some more horde love :/. Without TCG mounts, allies can get their own raptor (coming 5.2, there will be 3 raptors currently available to allies, not counting the fossilized version), 1 kodo, 1 skeleton horse, 1 hawkstrider. Sans TCG we currently have hordeside access to 1 horse (not counting class mounts), 1 ram and 1 cat :/.Really, i would just like an elekk somehow :(.

This is disappointing.Comment by 719639
Disappointing that Blizzard just took the Vemonhide Ravasaur and just changed the colors around a bit.I wish they would get creative with these mounts.
Couldn't they have made it look more 'dark'..? Maybe used a more appealing raptor skin like the "adult raptors" with some red/blue feathers (depending on your faction)? We know raptors like feathers because of the Venomhide Hatchling quest where the baby raptor wanted to "dress up" in feathers, but I see none on this guy...

Im loving the way blizz is making things up to alliance for taking away our beloved port of theramore and the beautiful eyes of jaina. They are leting allys to collect horde-looking mounts :) yay!1st - Reins of the Amber Scorpion
2nd - Reins of the Black Primal Raptor
I hope next will be
3rd -
I hope this leads to the extinction of the sickening Horde Favoritsim topic

Been farming off and on since yesterday at 1800 dinosaur bones for the white primal and I've yet to see a single egg... hopefully it's a high droprate from the egg itself and not something like the old green proto. Else farming this will be a huge pain.Comment by 1105104
I got my egg and waited and i got this! boy i was suprised and it looks sweet. and the eye's OMG!Comment by 934188
I never really liked the coloring of the Venomhide Ravasaur, so I guess this just solved my problems by making it look much better :)Comment by Alayener
Got this guy in my first egg. Very lucky :)I do advise people, it's ten times easier when there's about 4-5 of you farming these eggs. There was 5 of us, all hunters, farming them and we all got an egg each within 20 minutes along with almost 200 dino bones as well.

imo, this one is far better looking than the 99 problems one.Comment by variationisenemy
I've never been to the Isle of Giants, never knew it existed until I got the mount & came here to check it out. I got this on my first egg & I got the egg from the Celestials or some faction over in the Jade Forest. It's been sitting in my bank for awhile & I just remembered it.Comment by Mookosh
Can also drop from Treasures of the Thunder King in Throne of Thunder in LFR.Have received 2 so far and seen numerous more for raid members.

looks exactly like the venomhide in my opinionComment by Tsahil2clarg
Hi, was wondering if anyone else was having any issues with this and all the other raptor mounts. Mine no longer makes any noise with /mountspecial or the spacebar and I'm not sure if this is on purpose or it's just me but it's bugging me to no end. Even with the Archaeology raptor, nothing. Thanks

Apart from simply being different colours, the primal raptors also sport a slightly different texture to the Troll mounts. The most obvious difference is the pattern on the legs - the old mounts have an almost tattoo-like cross-hatch shape whereas the primals have four parallel stripes. They also have a more strongly striped pattern on the tail, and some less visible ones on the head fins, the eye area and one just in front of the saddle. It's hard to tell on the Swift raptors because their armour obscures many of these areas however I think they use a similar skin to the Apprentice Riding ones. However notice there are slight differences such as the fins under the jowls being longer.

The egg drops in raids as well. Did raid finder on 1/1/14 - Last Stand of the Zandalari and Terrace of Endless Spring in a row. Unfortunately, I do not know which boss I looted it from. My guess would be Zandalari since it is a Troll mount.Comment by Notaturnip
WARNING Crackpot theory testing ahead! After my fourth or fifth green raptor I decided that I would try to cheese the last raptor I needed.
I kept any doubles of the raptors that I had already learned in my bags. Because of the way mounts used to work, I thought that maybe the game would keep track of the ones I had in my bags and it would force it to give me the last one.
It didn't work :( It just told me that I couldn't loot the duplicate mount. There is no easy way to get the raptor you want without getting lucky or just continuing to hatch eggs.

As a vanilla player I really love these primal raptors! Nostalgia of the "old zone" Un'goro Crater indeed, back in the days when it was pretty close to end-game content. Was certainly something in the day seeing these giant dinosaurs walking around, and these mounts pay homage to that. The green one is hunter nostalgia from the wotlk days, with people spending their lives camping out the Sholazar Basin rare with a similar skin. These 3 mounts all resemble in-game devilsaur NPCs, as follows:
Reins of the Green Primal Raptor -Uses the skin of King Krush
Reins of the Black Primal Raptor - Uses skin of Ironhide Devilsaur.
Reins of the Red Primal Raptor -Uses skin of Tyrant Devilsaur. Similar to the TCG Savage Raptor. Also many others, see here.
And of course the Reins of the Bone-White Primal Raptor, which pays homage to the good ol' standard Devilsaur.

Just got one from an egg, but deleted it, since I already had one of the same model (red).Comment by Francezquo
Countless weeks have I tried for this black raptor and countless weeks a green raptor peek-a-boo'ed at me. I came to a conclusion that this mount isn't in fact real - you all are just liars.Comment by WoWGnGP
I made a quick Video of this mount if somebody like to see it :)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4J3NEldl6BM

Well, here it is, 2018, and I decided why not try for this mount since, hey, it's good lookin and my Orc hunter likes the lizards.Knocked around Isle of thunder, got one egg, got the reins, boom, done.
Maybe, since it's old content, they really made the drop rate much easier.
