Karol G Shouts Out Boyfriend Feid as She Makes History at 2024 Latin Grammys
Karol G made history at Thursday’s Latin Grammys. As she accepted the trophy for Best Urban Music Album, the Colombian star became the first woman to win the category twice, thanks to her LP Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season).
She took the stage singing along to “Qlona,” her collaboration with Peso Pluma from the project, and thanked her family and fans for their support. She also snuck in a shout-out to her boyfriend, Feid.
“This goes for that album, and for the rest. For Ferxxocalipsis as well,” Karol said onstage. “To be honest, my life, my music, and what happens to me each day is about this: the love of you all. Thank you for this, thank you to my team, God, and everyone.”
“This one I want to dedicate to my family… They really make my life so happy. I wouldn’t be here without them, I wouldn’t be able to survive anything or have good mental health if it weren’t for their support. They remind me to be proud and secure about what I do. This means so much to me, today more than ever.”
She ended her speech by thanking her those who listen to the “music to live and heal,” but also perreo and reggaeton.
Karol’s LP was up against Bad Bunny’s Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana, Eladio Carrión’s Sol María, Álvaro Díaz’s Sayonara, and Trueno’s El Último Baile.
Last year, Karol won the award for Mañana Será Bonito, which also saw this year’s nominees Feid and Carrión in the category. She’s only the third artist to win the award in consecutive years, after Calle 13 won in 2006 and 2007, and Bad Bunny, who won in 2021 and 2022.
